  2. You really can't calculate the generational good in helping kids and families with his generous charitable contribution. People with great wealth can spend their money the way they want. That's their prerogative. He's taken a portion of his wealth and put it to good use. It's a testament to his generosity. He's a self-made man who has given back. Whether he is personally liked or not is irrelevant. What is relevant is that he should be respected for his good deeds.
  3. McTavish is a player I would try to add but I don't understand what Anaheim would want for him. They could take Byram or they could take idk some combo of RHD and other prospects to fill out their pool. I just don't know how the trade works but I would be interested in making it work. McTavish for Byram, Rosen, and a sweetener? I doubt they want Samuelsson. Ideally you would probably need to include a RHD even if they have Luneau and Warren. McTavish for Conditional 2026 1st, Östlund, Kleber? Krebs, Östlund, Rosen Kleber? Idk how to make this work or what the value is. It might be McTavish for Helenius, Kleber/Strbak, and something like Krebs or a prospect they like. I would try to figure out the trade because I like McTavish and I am confused why he isn't signed.
  4. This will be the third Children’s hospital he’s funded? I know Rochester and SW Florida already have Golisano’s Children Hospitals.

  8. Sorry for the delayed response. I’m in again.
  9. GM Sheevyn knew that the addition by subtraction was Dahlin, Thompson, and Tuch all along. Think of the futures!
  10. Ironic coming from the party always pissing and moaning about how the left always wants to change history by removing statues. Never mind that those statues honor traitors to our country which is another irony in itself.
  11. The red flag could be unwarranted. You can easily argue Colorado felt Mitts wasn't as good as they'd hoped but what they wanted last year was a guy they felt could be better 2 way and better in the playoffs. They went for Coyle (and didn't like him either). Mitts had to go to get the deal done and fit under the cap. Different type of player with different value. We have a number of guys who might not be good in the playoffs, but we have to get in the playoffs before we worry about that. Boston may never have wanted him they just had to take the contract and they got Zellers as their consolation for doing that. So really not a "red flag" in either case assuming by red flag you mean those teams didn't like him and his play. I actually don't think Boston is moving him because unlike Buffalo they do not create spots for rookies. People there are simply wondering where Poitras fits in if Mitts is there as both are 2C types. The rumor is based on nothing more than some people wanting it to be Poitras.

The American president, reflecting his comments after meeting in Alaska with Russian President Vladimir Putin: “I think he wants to make a deal for me, you understand, as crazy as it sounds.”

  14. Another thing it does is it lets the guy you bring in not be DIRECTLY (even though it likely isn't due to him directly, there'll be a direct line of so and so got interviewed and THEN the boob got dropped, so it'll be perceived that way) responsible for one of his fraternity members losing their job. Cut the guy cleanly on cleanout day, then anybody coming in isn't getting viewed as a backstabber or similar.
  15. Even if (just shoot us all now should this come to pass) all three of the "Big 3" decide to bolt, they don't HAVE to rebuild. They'll almost definitely want/need to overspend on a top UFA, but it doesn't HAVE to be a rebuild. (PLEASE dear Lord, do NOT let us get to the point that Dahlin, Thompson, and Tuch all want out of this dumpster fire. That would be beyond depressing.)
  16. Hire the right POHO/GM and maybe he doesn't have to rebuild, just retool.
  17. Two of the three people we are waiting on have been here recently, so I’m not counting them out. Not sure about Norcal though. He hasn’t been around since January.
  18. https://www.cnn.com/2025/08/19/politics/trump-slavery-museum-smithsonian?utm_source=firefox-newtab-en-us Getting people to forget about the past so you can repeat history. Officials from the Florida State Board of Education recently released a new history standard that has caused an uproar in the education community. The standard includes controversial language that claims, “slaves developed skills which, in some instances, could be applied for their personal benefit.”-2023
  19. During the off-season (and the feeling was dispelled in fairly short order) when Regier and Ruff were brought in and the top GM got canned and the Jack Adams winner got effectively canned by offering him a 1 year deal that effected the desired reaction from said Jack Adams winner. You had a guy who'd never been a GM before coming in. Yes, he'd learned under Al Arbour, but he was part of some very bad teams and he was extremely milquetoast in demeanor. And the new HC had been a former team captain, but had only been an AC with the Panthers. AND one of the local sports radio stations had a personality that at the time didn't just hate the football coach who'd hired and subsequently fired him but also hated the new GM at a minimum. Things also seemed bad a couople of years before that when Muckler traded away or let walk every star on the team not named Hasek or Lafontaine and brought in an inexperienced HC who'd had success in juniors but no NHL coaching experience. Those are the only 2 points in time IMHO that were viewed as bad as or worse than what we've got now. Even the bankruptcy year didn't seem this hopeless.
  20. You were right about Jack, and you were brilliant in your hyping of the season - it gets me excited every year even though I have no hope 😂 It’s not your fault the GM doesn’t hold up his end of the bargain
  21. Damn that 2nd post was fantastic. Im clearly past my prime. Trade me to another board and give me my cup.
