  1. Past hour
  2. What a mess. I read some of that court transcript. Pretty wild.
  3. Today
  4. Matt Ellis has never been on a first line.
  5. If the cops faked the results because they are Maple Leaf fans! Come on man, that happens all the time
  6. I did not know his nickname was Four-giev 😁 Best goalie name since Warren Scoragainstme
  7. Adams spoke very highly of Lyon. Right now we have 4 goalies, which usually means we don't have a goalie.
  8. Good point. I should have said ā€œnot convictedā€.
  9. NHL goaltending is a lot like MLB relief pitching. Outside of a couple of them you don’t want to commit too long to them because they have a couple good years then tank and then move around and you hope you have the key to get them back on track. No harm in signing the guy and hoping he rebounds in some capacity. Gives some depth when injuries kick in.
  10. The legal process ran its course ending in acquittals. The legal standard was applied in the trial. And the outcome was acquittals for the accused. Because of the trial, a clearer picture of what happened in this tawdry episode is better known. The players should be allowed to place themselves on the NHL market. When teams are preparing their scouting reports on prospects character considerations are part of the evaluation. I wouldn't want any of them representing my organization. But that doesn't mean that they should be excluded from the profession if other teams are interested in them.
  11. This is really expensive for an AHL back up goalie... I find it weird how often we throw out lots of contracts for around $1 million. I assume we're hoping one works out and it's a steal, but strange when we're allergic to spend to the cap to have so much dead weight over the last five years
  12. I’d have to move the entire box behind the switch plate. It has 3 switches and with how this is cut into the wall, it’s a lost cause.
  13. According to Puckpedia, Rosen and Ryan Johnson are both still waivers exempt.
  14. I think Edmonton takes a run at Hart. Goaltending has been their weakness and McJesus is a pending UFA. Two SCF in a row. They recently brought in E Kane, so they are not scared of any backlash.
  15. UPL should feel the heat. He may not respond well to a challenge but he has sucked so what should he expect.
  16. Normally doesn’t happen but there is so much cap space around the league. McDavid was never in love with Edmonton. Kaprizov may want palm trees and money. Eichel has a Cup already and wants something else.
  17. Ever heard of the four headed monster
  18. I’m not sure a recent 14th overall pick would clear waivers to Rochester??
  19. Wouldn't be surprised if Kaprizov, McDavid and Eichel all go to free agency and let the bidding war commence. I mean wouldn't you?
  20. If this is the plan I am fine with this signing. Low risk reclamation project and if he is sensational in Rochester maybe he's an option down the road. If not whatever. Maybe helps Rochester win a title. If the plan is to trade UPL and go with Georgiev Lyon with Levi pressing for time then I just add it to the long list of Adams failures.
  21. You know I saw an episode of The Hockey Guy about a week ago and he had polled his viewers and Sabres were predicted dead last in the division. So that's what non Sabres fans think. I can't figure out what Boston's doing so it's possible they are the dead last team instead but otherwise that's where I figure they end up. I am not confident of the Sabres being better than many Eastern teams. I'd expect better than Pittsburgh as well, but that's about it for sure. Somebody else might have a bad year and drop but otherwise most everybody looks better to me. I wish that wasn't the case.
  22. You do know that it's not overly difficult to adjust the way a light switch is mounted, right? šŸ˜‰ But, it probably is best to wait until wifey's B-Day to make that adjustment. Lets one get off with a cheaper "big" gift for that one. šŸ˜‰
  23. Dad must be an Elton John fan. Couldn't understand at first why Devon Levi was at the carnival with him. Oh, his brother shall be Levi. That makes SOOOOO much more sense than why Devon had taken a trip to Moose Jaw randomly in the summer.
  24. Presuming his liver functions properly, yes, that would be a reasonable interpretation of the situation. If the medication he's on, or other potential health issues, kept his liver from processing alcohol correctly then he might've had a 6 pack of a double IPA the night before and not realized he was still quite drunk the next day after a full night's sleep. Not excusing his lack of realization of his situation nor stating that your version of the situation isn't in fact the correct one. And understand why the Sabres would place him on administrative leave immediately for this event happening. But will wait to join the tar and feather brigade until after the full facts are known. And thank God that it appears nobody in either car was injured. Bumpers can be replaced; lives, not so much.
  25. Probably the biggest source of hopium IMHO is the heavily front loaded schedule of home games combined with Ruff and 80% of the team knowing what to expect from each other AND other teams not being able to take them as seriously in October as they're taking everybody else in October sets them up for a great opportunity to get out of the gate quickly. And with the team youth, a quick start can translate into these guys not just believing in themselves but having seen results that back that faith, so it can become an amplifier for the good vibes / success. And, right about the time they start losing that juice that comes from a quick start and feeling the fatigue of having been playing their relative version of playoff (or at minimum full on in the groove regular season) hockey for 4 months when the rest of the league has only been doing it for 1-2 months, they get nearly a full month break to regroup with only 2 (most likely) - 4 of them not having that full break to recharge and get back to being ready to drive the final 2+ month home stretch. They made the mistake of believing they were there heading into the season 2 years ago and didn't take October seriously like they had the 2 previous Granato years and it bit them in the bippy and then last year, though they'd overcome the 0-3 start that the European trip saddled them with, they never built up a cushion to be able to ride out a few game bad stretch while staying in a playoff spot and Dahlin's getting injured flat out broke them. Truly doubt they won't be ready to fly when the bullets start up for real. IF October blows up on them, expectiing it'll be none of the 4 headed goalie monster (or will it even be a 5 headed monster by the time that month is done?) was able to get the job done (which on an NHL squad would cause a significant management shakeup, but we cheer for the Sabres so hopefully we don't have to find out whether ownership has the resolve to belatedly finally make that move if necessary) rather than the skaters in front of them playing tentatively because they once again had no idea how to play the way Ruff asked them to out of the gate. But the schedule maker definitely has given them an opportunity to build up a bit of momentum out of the gate. And there is room for hope with that.
