That’s when you make a bad deal. I’m not looking for flashy actions as I am more demonstrations of thoughtfulness and competency. The offseason is the time to make deals that restructure the roster. However, a change in GMs will be a clear sign to the players that changes will be made and the status quo will no longer be tolerated. And I’m sure most of the players will appreciate that. It's possible for a GM to make a trade that is not ridiculously impulsive, that improves the team in the short and longer term, and that was made for reasons other than simply showing he has a bigger wank than the man he replaced. That's the sort of trade I'm talking about. Quote

You know that isn't true. Changing gm has already occurred in the past and the status quo just kept on. 1 2 Quote

That’s what I’m looking for and will find most consequential. 1 hour ago, LGR4GM said: You know that isn't true. Changing gm has already occurred in the past and the status quo just kept on. I recognize that .What I don’t want is a symbolic deal that doesn’t actually improve the roster. 1 Quote

At the end of an exhausting career there was a boss who was the #2 man in a relatively large agency acting like a cartoon dictator and being obnoxious and condescending in his presentation. There were a lot of big shots at the gathering. During his bloviating I stood up and interrupted his public display of stupidity and politely asked him if he recognized how stupid he sounded? The audience went dead silent. He was a big fellow who went to an NFL training camp. He wanted to kill me for humiliating him. I was at the end of my career. Needless to say, I had to watch my back. Did they take back your watch? Quote
GoPuckYourself Posted 54 minutes ago Report Posted 54 minutes ago Doesn't matter if they just hire guys in house like Appert who can't even run a power play as HC or if they move Adams into an even higher role he's not qualified for. Quote

I don’t like the delay because it probably means Terry is getting cold feet. It’s amazing that a person who has built a multibillion dollar company is so reticent to actual make a decision. And this is not even a hard one. 1 Quote

Scottysabres Posted 26 minutes ago Report Posted 26 minutes ago What’s the hold up with this? Did someone from the organization catfish our supposed local media insiders? Quote
PASabreFan Posted 17 minutes ago Report Posted 17 minutes ago (edited) This feels like the succession plan is close to being announced, and things have started leaking. It's not tied to on ice performance this season, per se. But a few more wins might hurry along the presser. They can say, look, the team is coming around, and the restructuring is meant to get us over the top. Ruff to senior advisor, Adams to POHO, Rutsoleinen to GM and Appert to HC. Porous Five Hole Posted 13 minutes ago Report Posted 13 minutes ago I don’t understand folks who worry about a couple wins might change the removal of the GM. Even if they win in Seattle for their third straight road win, the Sabres would still be last in the conference. GMKA has had six years and we are worse off. How this road trip ends is irrelevant. 2 Quote

This would all apply if the person making the decision was logical Quote

I doubt they would announce this in the middle of a west coast road trip. Which is why all the outlets reporting this look like morons. I hate this race to report things first nonsense. It cheapens the product because people are more concerned about being first than being correct. 1 Quote
