We got a point which we couldn't do last year. I think Thompson is doing way too much with the puck and I'm starting to hate Benson on that line because of it. Tage never seems to find Benson, he just rips shots from Siberia and then wanders away. Benson is being left out to dry and isn't being given the puck touches needed to create.

We have 10 points after 10 games.  An 80 point pace won’t stop the drought.  Starting with 3 losses in a row is a problem.  

I think this team can be better.  The slow starts.  Still a lack of urgency and know how.   The last two games they had the win at hand and failed to finish.  

Kids like Kulich, and especially Östlund, are not ready for the roles they are in.  But we have no choice  

Kesselring gets a thumbs up rating tonight in his debut.   He had some rust but he got better as the game went on.  Looks promising.

Dude, they just got points in three straight games. It is a legitimate improvement.

We’re not gonna go from what we’ve been dealing with to a powerhouse overnight or even quickly whatsoever. They need to understand that they need to get points every night, but it’s not gonna be a win every single time.

We had one of our better shooters with a breakaway in overtime and he didn’t bury it. I have confidence that next time he will.

Some of you are too negative to see that there is actual progress being made, even though it is an admittedly small sample size so far this year

While I agree Adams won’t get that I don’t believe anyone is getting that for Power. 1st over all or not, he’s shown nothing indicating his ceiling is much more than what we see now. He’s in Yakapov territory to me in any event.

Our top line was ineffective and thats a tribute to CBJ keeping them in our D zone for long stretches.  Jackets play style is what I’d like Sabres to become.

I really liked Kesselring tonight.

If the Sabres want to get serious then they need to identify what a Sabre is and add more of them.

To me, guys like Benson, Doan, Kesselring, Helenuis should be the definition of a “Sabre”. Guys with skill but with that dawg in them and leaders. Draft and acquire more of them and really build an identity. I think Mrtka fits that mold too.

Tage works good with Tuch.   Benson and Doan with McLeod is worth a try.

I think some of you need to take a deep breath and cool off before you post because the level of emotion is clearly skewing your thoughts

On the ice, to me Buffalo looks slightly better than Toronto does this year so far.

Over the weekend, I think Buffalo slightly outplayed Toronto overall.

Toronto is ahead in the standings though, they find a way to win in OT or get a goal late in a lot of games, the exact opposite of the Sabres.

Hahaha it actually is so funny to read through the posts right after a loss, even one in which we got a point and recovered nicely after a very lackluster first period against a solid team.

Some of you really don’t know how childish you come off following a loss. Reduced from a cogent adult to a tantruming five-year-old.

Totally agree.

I hate Tage's game. He doesn't make anyone else on his line better. Quinn's game is right behind.

It’s not just a loss it’s a loss after 14 years of losing. Some people just are at their wit’s end.

They are playing better and Kesselring is a big add back. They are giving points away the last 2 games they should have had which is frustrating.

I think they have found a goalie in Lyon. He has given them a chance to win every game he has been in.

I like Tuch with Doan, but another combo that I would like to see is Tage, Tuch and Zucker.  I agree that Benson with Doan and McLeod is worth a look.  Use Östlund centering Quinn and Kulich is my third line.

I guess I'm just not seeing a noticeable improvement. Points % the previous 3 years: .482, .512, .555. this has been a roughly .500 club for a few years now. So far, small sample size, they're .500. I see the same pratfalls occuring with this year's model as the past few. Sorry, but I don't see a lot to feel like they're cresting some hill. Hopefully I'm wrong, but I just don't see this season ending differently. I don't believe in the front office, I don't believe in the coaches, and while I'm not saying we need to strip the roster down to its bones, I think there's still too many flaws. 14 years has made me quite cynical.

I'll gladly be first in line to eat crow if I'm wrong.
