Yes, like the Bruins did getting Minten from the Leafs for Carlo. Leafs blew that one big time. Sabres need a similar type deal if they do move Tuch. For sure. A high pick AND a roster player for next year.

Beecher is a former first rounder who underwhelmed. Lost his spot with Minten playing well. Bruins opted for the tougher, heavier guy in Viel for the 4th line. Beecher is a decent face off guy and PK guy but not much else. 

The Sabres equivalent move would be keeping Dunne and waiving Danforth (if healthy) or maybe Krebs. 

Calgary probably just wants bodies for their tear down to come.

Elliotte Friedman today saying nobody will be out of it at Thanksgiving like in past years because of the parity and closeness in the standings, particularly in the Eastern Conference. He's correct.

Nate Danielson scored a goal for the Red Wings by dragging the puck around the goalie and tucking it into the goal... and Mickey Redmond described it as "scored a goal like Tage Thompson."  🙂 

But then they said it was offside.

Probably not the worst boarding I have seen but it was boarding. Then moments later the game tying goal wiped out. I think it was the right call because of the leg kick as Robertson went by but I guess you could go either way.

The fact the Oilers haven’t improved their goaltending in 3 years is mind blowing. Roll the dice on Binnington. Do Something!
 

They are a team right now that knows their goaltending will let them down regardless of how hard they play.

As much as they need a goalie the defense was non existent last night. If they had a great goalie they would have only lost 5 to 3 with the way they were playing.

They can play D, having been to the finals. They just haven’t done so this year.

Well, the Sabres will be out of it tomorrow morning (standings-wise) regardless. 

The Thanksgiving thing is really just a self-evident observation that 1/4 of the way through the season there will be clear good teams and clear bad teams. Last year at Thanksgiving, Boston, The Rangers, Calgary, and Vancouver were in playoff positions. They missed, replaced by Montreal, Ottawa, Edmonton, and St. Louis. So, it is entirely likely there will be some changeover between now and April.
