I don’t think it is possible to get a trade done before close to trade deadline. I believe there will be teams tanking and some might have a hard time to get to cap floor. Norris still has to be traded, and Adams wins the Worst trade in history award.

I suppose that's possible but there might be other dead weight floating around as a contender or three looks to dump somebody to pick up somebody else. Hard to say. 

Thing is I doubt Adams will look to undo a move he made. Trade and trade again and trade a traded for guy really isn't his style. he believes too much in himself. Any fault is on players who don't want to be there, no move clauses, palm trees and so forth. This year, as I said way back, it'll be all blamed on injuries.

I don’t think Adams can fool anyone anymore. He traded for a player that can't stay healthy, he traded JJ without fixing the hole that caused. The defense has been badly constructed for years. And then there are our seven goaltenders...

Three years ago, they should have been looking for the next up-and-coming Foligno. Maybe it's Doan? (Though he's not punishing like Foligno was able to be.) 

But that was three years ago. Now, Foligno is a deadline rental for a team with a top seed that just needs some more veteran depth and know-how for the playoffs. He's an Okposo. He is not someone you acquire who has term remaining on a contract and expect contributions throughout an 82-game season.

It's a huge mess. It's obvious. I suppose there will be some eternal optimists who think we are "close" or they will buy into the injury excuse that will be Adams' mantra but the reality is he is a complete failure. Has been for years. The organization failed not firing him last year. Pegula won't step away and hand it over to someone. It's all a disaster. Lindy is already starting to look 10 years older. It's killing him.

Pommers actually played rather well here when he returned. A solid 3rd line guy who still could play at a decent level. Hell we should of brought him back 1 more year instead of trading for Vesey.

Wadr, disagree quite vehemently.

Pomminstein was played on a line he wasn't still capable of playing on for an entire season and he wore out quickly his last year as a Sabre.  He SHOULD've been used as a 3rd liner.  But rather than that, he was used quite a bit on Eichel's line.  He did very well there for about 10 games and then crashed to earth.

It was good to move on from him when they did.

Yes he was certainly over-played but as a 3rd liner he was a fine player. We just put him on the Top line. Also Pommers did well 1-20 and 60-82 approximately while he didn’t exist 21 to 59

Ottawa cleared the Norris cap hit for a newer, younger, healthy 2C. (Cozens' and Pinto's lines have alternated as 2nd this season, but Pinto gets 2 minutes more of ATOI per game this season, he's the 2C.)
