Power/Bryson pairing is just asking for them to get caved in. These are the 2 softest D on the team, together. It’s bad enough Bryson is still on the team, now he is second pairing.

I thought the same thing.  Maybe Ruff saw something in practice with Bryson he liked? Maybe he doesn't want to put Ryan Johnson in a high pressure situation right away with the team already banged up?  Maybe he's worried about Power or Muel reaggravating their injury and thinks Bryson offers him more flexibility to pick up the additional workload if that happens?

I'm hoping if they struggle Lindy has a plan to reshuffle the lines or play Timmons and Power or Muel (🤮) as the 2nd pairing.  I'm already missing Kesselring and he hasn't even played a regular season game yet...

So much for the posters who say “he is a good soldier that will be up in the press box all season”.  Oops…this joke of a blueliner will be in the lineup at least  30-40 games this season.

Jacob Bryson, great guy, used to be a solid spot starter but has become more and more of a liability and pariah to fans as he’s been used far too much the last 2 years.

Early in his career, he’d play solid for 3 to 5 games when needed before sitting in the press box a month. Likely because he’d play simple hockey and not try to over play to keep a roster spot.

Among other things, Geersten’s installation seems to suggest that Lindy’s lost his grip on coaching in the modern NHL.

If you get 4 minutes a game, you'd better be getting 8 hits and drawing instigators left and right. Keep your elbows down, stay on your skates, and run people. Get the home crowd excited and your teammates engaged. Whatever it is Geertsen does, he doesn't do that. Kiefer Sherwood had 462 hits last season (which is silly!), but he already has 11 this season. Geertsen has 3.

Go be a cult icon. It'd be so easy to be beloved by the Sabre.... hood? Sabrehospicecenter?

They’re down 3 forwards from their planned opening roster. I doubt Geerston being in the roster was the plan. Him playing each game certainly wasn’t. Keeping him around once the ***** hit the fan and not calling up a better option? Yes, that one’s on Ruff. 
 

If they’re ever fully healthy, I can’t see the numbers working out to keep him up. But hey then we can be scared of the waiver claim that’s never coming.
