Sabres sign Forward Jake Leschyshyn to a one year two way contract

I bet he suits up for a few Sabresganes this season.  Might be a guy who makes sure you can’t take out of the lineup.  We’ll see.

Another guy I seen in Vegas/Henderson a lot and this player is nothing more than a minor leaguer. Who is scouting these players? Mason Gertsen and now Jake Leschyshyn will never be more than mediocre minor league players. Even if I’m building my minor league squad I would have passed on both of them!

These are Jason Karmanos selections for the Amerks.  (He's the GM of that team in addition to being the AGM for the Sabres.)

I think the better question is why people get so irrationally upset about a Rochester signing.

Possibly could it be that this franchise hasn’t made the playoffs in 14 years? Instead of doing a house cleaning of the front office they fire a strength & conditioning coach. They trade away our 2nd leading goal scorer/3rd leading point producer in Peterka and replace him with somebody on the roster who hasn’t put up those numbers. Oh and we had a huge problem with defense and goaltending so we got 1 defensemen and another backup goalie so now we have 2 backup goalies about to start the season. I think at this point you shouldn’t be asking people to why we care about trades and preseason but why do we care about this team at all?

Terrible, I wouldn’t want either of them on my AHL team, maybe echl team. I would rather have better players then these two!

If Jake brings any of that then this is a fine thing.

I watched a lot of Jake Leschyshyn’s junior career. He tore his ACL in his draft year. He would have been a much higher pick without the injury, I think. Not that this was ever a direct comparison, but he was definitely seen as a Drury-type of two-way centre with leadership skills. Obviously it hasn’t worked out though. I think he can be a good vet for the Amerks.
