Outright. He’s just an *****

You know who actually feels bad for the ***** fans? Me. The fans feel bad for the fans. The organization doesn’t give two shits. There’s no argument against this

Adams Peterka response was a cut and paste from the last 5 years. It's not going to fly and he's incapable of reassuring or even being more honest with a fanbase. Perfect example of why you move on from him.

Did Peterka ask to be moved?

No.

It's that ***** simple. It doesn't even have to be true.

He comes off a lil unprepared for this part of the job. Some of these questions are easy to anticipate and he should have rehearsed his answers during a few minutes a free time. We do it in business all the time ...

He comes off as someone who feels no pressure to be prepared

Adams is outright lying

All the faith in the world?!

they literally are trolling us

I’m sorry, folks. I can’t spin it. They absolutely despise us, and they are laughing at us behind close doors

I don’t think they are laughing at us or trolling us, but I do think they despise “us” (meaning the hardcore Sabre fan who “refuses to be patient” and “doesn’t understand how hard this is”.)

Its pretty standard human behaviour for those who feel under siege.

It’s a very interesting and somehow underplayed dynamic for me. We of course have our side well covered but I do believe the conflict of interest is quite severe BOTH ways. How the org may, or may not act is surely affected by this feature. It’s so hard to know exactly how but there’s a level of fascination to it in its uniqueness, in spite of the outright anger in triggers in me due to my loyalty to the crest and the fans

Because, Terry and Kevyn don’t represent the Crest. They aren’t buffalo sabres

Adams never WOULD claim the drought. The fans situation isn’t his fault.

Not saying Sabres fans shouldn’t express how they feel; not saying that at all.

But in a broader more meta sense, I don’t buy the idea that torches and pitchforks are necessary as a catalyst for change, or even the best tool as a catalyst for change.

Often they result in the person on the other end hunkering down behind walls, leaning into the people and conclusions that “feel right” to them and dismissing potentially useful input because of the source.

Rangers have the Pens the 12th pick this year to complete the JY Miller trade meaning they keep their 26 1st round pick. Wondering if they are maneuvering for a JJ offer sheet July 1st.

Or they think they'll be worse next year.

I’d bet money the players themselves, in the end, chuckle at the mindset of the fans. I keep saying this: right or wrong, they don’t claim the drought. No one does. No matter how many years they contribute to it. You can see it in Adams snarky defensiveness when questioned.

“We think we know a bit more than the fans.”

the situation is so toxic because it isn’t one sided at all: make no mistake, there’s disdain on both sides

Pridefully stubborn - much more detrimental than outright idiocy

“Hubris” for my money has been identified as their chief flaw long ago. We don’t need a mere playoff team. We are beyond that. Cup contender only for us. The long road. And we know how to do it: not you, the fan, not you, the league recommended executive

me. Terry. I didn’t get rich by accident

Here's the quote

He definitely asked for a trade or some ultimatum. Kevyn could easily say “No”, but he can’t say “Yes”. He’d automatically lose leverage. My guess is other GMs already know this. Hence, them being “difficult” to deal with.

I don’t agree with “big time” because the shooting percentage isn’t some bonkers number, but with JJP’s defense being bad AND to expect some 5 on 5 scoring regression…is it possible we would be selling high?? Not even saying I buy this, but worth considering.

It's very possible. His 2nd assist numbers are also something to note. He got .8a1 and had 1.0a2 per 60min.

Zach Benson had the same a1 but only had .2a2

I'm not convinced that Peterka is a 30g, 50a player. Idk, it's a tough call because you have to be right.

Yes it is tough, if he becomes the next in a line of guys to move on and find there way somewhere else it will sting so bad....but it is possible that maybe, just maybe we may be able to see high here

Started this thread because there are signs.

Agree it's a very tough call.

Adams is moving at his normal pace, why this seems ridiculous is baffling. He will get around to a move sometime in early August, 2027, after his 5 yr extension is well entrenched.

It's ridiculous because he kept his job despite the failure of last season. By not being fired you'd think there'd be a new sense of urgency. An on the clock or one last chance kind of thing but he seems to be moving along like he has this job for life.

Not sure that he's definitely asked for a trade directly.  Indirectly, very likely, in that a statement such as "this is what I want in a LT deal, this is what i'd take in a bridge, if you won't get there I'm sure there are other teams that will give me that, maybe you'd be better off trading me" could very well have been made (through the agent at a minimum).

And with Adams having said "we only want players that WANT to be here" then the onus goes on him to either keep his word and trade him because he's only ok with being here not living and dying with that opinion or to keep the good player that is still improving but get called a liar by all the local media and all the people on X and BS.

Pretty sure it's easier (definitely more expedient) to simply say "I'm not going to divulge the content of private conversations", after divulging content of the exit interview which also would seem to be a priviate conversation and leave it at that.  He still gets flack and gets to reinforce that bunker mentality that @dudacek described but at least he's not a "liar."  Which, IMHO is something that Adams is very concerned with.  Not sure why, but "honesty" is a significant buzzword for him and he does seem to try to follow it though it does put him through some serious contortions to be able to do the job (sort of) and stay true to keeping "honesty" as one of his guiding traits.

Guess that, at the end of the day, it's one of the things that let him (or not) sleep at night.  And again, not sure why, but it is probably the most recurring theme of his interviews; even more so than "we only want guys that want to be here."

I can see this all unfolding now clear as day: They are going to let him get offersheeted then Adams will hold a PC where he gets all emotional saying how Terry “stepped up to match the offer sheet” and what an amazing owner Pegula is.🤮
