Brutal cheap shot from a team of losers. Potentially changing the outcome of the playoffs. Or more.

At the end of the day it wasn't a head high crosschwck, he put his stick up to protect himself. BS call to eject him!

???

Pretty sure he isn't faking. He has a concussion history.

Guess McClavicle is officially the best player in hockey at present.

I'm aware of his concussion history, also aware of his selling penalties history as well.

Sid wasn't standing straight up he was falling into Niskanen. Niskanen reacted by putting his stick up. Would it have been better for Niskanen to let Crosby take out his knee instead?

Would anyone let someone barrel into them without protecting themselves? NO

Assaulting him in the head with a weapon does not equal "protecting themselves". You are out to lunch on his one.

Assault is a legal term, and legally he did not assault anyone. No intent also not known if there is an actual injury/ mark/ bruise on Crosby, also required for assault. Assault requires mens rea, not a strict liability crime (like manslaughter for example).

A penalty yes, game misconduct is a stretch. Assault no.

Really unfortunate hit on 87.

Even in slo mo, it doesn't look intentional . The Caps player's eyes are fixed elsewhere, on the puck most likely. He was just reacting to Crosby hurtling into him. That said: Reckless, ugly play -- you have to be responsible for your stick, as they say.

Also, if Crosby comes out fine in the next period -- I'll eat my hat.
