I love the kid, but he failed to engage anyone after the whistle in a half dozen incidents towards the end of the season. It's one thing to play smart and not take selfish penalties during play, but you also have to let it be known that you aren't going to sit around and watch your teammates take sh!t. The Hockey News Draft Preview had an interesting analysis of the last 10 years of draft picks after the second round. The best percentage to have picks play 50 plus NHL games was Columbus (19.3%) and WInnipeg was worst (1.8%). Sabres were 9th at 14.3 %. NHL draft is a crap shoot at best after the second round. NFL 5th and 6th round picks contribute. Interesting difference. I would go for college grads in the late rounds, you know what you got and they can fill spots in the minors while the higher picks get groomed for the big show.
