Kotalik on waivers

Another incredibly awful contract that they Rangers somehow didn't have to pay for at all. In that deal to Calgary, Kotalik was the only one who actually had money carrying over to this year ($3 million per over the next two seasons). Remember when Sather used to be good at his job?

Did you pull a muscle reaching that far? :D

Why do you think that was a reach (I'm assuming you meant logically and not pornographically)? The Lindy-bashers seem to think that another coach could get more out of the guys on the roster. I haven't yet heard a coherent response to the position that the guys that have left the Sabres have not achieved as much for their new teams as they did for Lindy.

Briere has achieved more. So has Campbell.

Statistically, no they haven't. I'll give you Campbell since he has his best career numbers in 2008-2009, but with Briere, it hasn't even been close. Philly has been ready to run him out of town on several occasions. Sure, both now have their big playoff runs, but that has as much to do with the teams themselves as it does with those two players.

Briere has done great in the playoffs for Philly, like he did with the Sabres, but his regular season #s were much better with the Sabres. As for Soupy, his best year was actually '07-'08, when he played 76% of his games as a Sabre.

So if anyone is reaching...

Like I said, they've both achieved more since they've left.

I'm sorry, but when you pick 3 seasons out of his seven with the Sabres, one of them being the magical '05-'06 season, and use that to show us what a great coach Lindy is,.. that's a reach. Talking about a guy that just won the Stanley Cup and another that has been to 2 ECFs and a SCF as achieving more since they left is not. Maybe I'm wrong.
