  1. Of course not...but my point still stands. What's wrong with 2 Bums Drive? (oops! I always seem to make that factual error)
  2. Doesn't stuff like this belong on a Buffalo Bills website? It's bad enough there...let alone letting it bleed into this one. I say, let's quarantine ourselves from this contagion which has cursed our community for far too many years.
  3. Jerry Sullivan - why does anyone even bother? This guy irritates the hell out of me. He's supposed to be a free lance writer for the News and cover whatever he chooses. He has made it obvious that he dislikes hockey - listing it after the NBA, football, and baseball...saying that it's tough to watch a game of hockey. He has not written an article on the Sabres until yesterday - and then just to give us the same old ######...fire Darcy...fire Ruff...trade everyone. Now I see that his opinions are being read by Lyle Richardson and mentioned in his daily column on NHL Rumors. These guys don't know that all he cares about is his precious NBA and could care less about the Sabres or hockey in general. He belongs in Atlanta, Phoenix, or Cleveland. I wish he would just go away.
  4. Are you really Don Cherry in disguise?
  5. You have a good memory. Yes, some...although every time I see Kulikov's name in the scoring stats I cringe.
  6. You obviously weren't around when Dave Schultz was a Sabre. I was embarrassed for the organization. Well, all I can do is preach to the choir. I think with the impetus to improve pervading the fan base (and certainly the ownership), patience is in shorter supply than usual. I'll admit to that as well. Last year I liked Roy a lot and felt his best days were ahead of him. I loved Ennis too - and his best days ARE ahead of him. Now I'm ready to dump them both along with doorstops like Stafford. Include Pominville too - he's too soft to captain the kind of team I'd like to see challenge for the Cup. I guess this "Let's have a Cup-contending team" energy is making me more impatient, along with some others here too. It's like, "Hey, if we're serious about being very good, it's time to dump the dead wood that's overstayed its welcome." I'm on that bandwagon because it is obvious to everyone that changes are needed.
  7. Are you kidding? Why don't you post this on a Bills site? Of course they suck! Why in the world are you surprised? Did you just fall off the turnip truck? Did you finally realize that they have a history? I just realized why you posted this here...no matter how bad the Sabres get they will NEVER approach that level of incompetence and ineptitude. Thanks for the reminder.
  8. I'm kind of glad you don't and I don't even know you!
  9. Where's Reggie Fleming, Jim Schoenfeld, or Rob Ray when you need them?
  10. It's really hard to interpret Lucic's actions as lacking intent when he afterward commented that he was surprised there was no retaliation. If he truly did not intend to whack him he would have been more contrite or at least expressed some regret for the concussion. None was forthcoming because he was glad he did it.
  11. Like I said on another thread...ask Leino what would have happened had this happened to a Flyer goalie last year? Don't bother...I already know.
  12. Stone's Street Fighting Man by a landslide. Great back beat plus it's from my generation so old folk like me can relate. Sabre Dance is perfect for when we win the Cup! (especially if they bring out Sundae Bafo to skate)
  13. Actually I didn't even notice there was one until just now. I think I'll forget all about it in a minute or two.
  14. Summer Sucks!!! (yes, I know I'm repeating myself but it hits me every goddamned day) Obama rolls over for the Republicans. Milk toast president. If Hillary were POTUS she would have said, "Look - you have two choices. A one sentence bill that says we're going to raise the debt ceiling into 2013 or the 14th Amendment. Take your choice." Case closed. If only...
  15. There are always leagues looking for managers on Yahoo. Check it out in September and I'm sure you'll find a league.
  16. The particular importance of any kind of player depends solely upon what kind of league you are in. e.g. in my $ league we designed it so that goaltending is approximately 33% of the total score - a percentage that I think is appropriate. I'm in two other leagues as well, where goaltending is in the 40% category which is unfortunate I think in that these two leagues are 10 teams each and goaltenders start running out when you reach 7 or 8 teams. Most leagues are based on Yahoo because they give the most comprehensive information on the web. But I've noticed one thing...the two leagues that I'm playing for fun don't have the same "kick" factor as the $ league. I don't know if that's just because of the $ part or the fact that we have player contracts and a salary cap. I really think it's the latter. So my recommendation is if you can find a league with salaries for the players (which means no one can hold on to Crosby forever), definitely get in it. It adds another dimension to the fun.
  17. I have been playing in a $ league since 1988. It requires that you know the NHL, not just the Sabres. This league is sophisticated with player contracts which change each year and Equalization drafts based on limited abilities to protect players from year to year. Plus there is a salary cap which restricts you and much more. I am the commissioner of this league and it is loads of fun. Tips? Try to see as many NHL games as you can. NHL Center Ice is very useful. Look for guys who have speed, smarts, can make plays and can shoot. Watch for the third player on a top line...they are ususally overlooked but can rack up points. Be aware of Band-Aid boys - guys that look good but always get hurt (e.g. Connolly). Also be aware of when a promising player will break out. Usually the fourth season but sometimes the third. If he hasn't done so by year five, chances are he won't. Also keep your own personal stats on your team. Update their stats daily or weekly to determine who is hot and who is not. Those are just some ideas off the top of my head. Fantasy hockey expands your enjoyment of the sport ten fold...especially when money is on the line.
  18. One of the best beers I've ever had was Charrington Toby...an English beer. That was many years ago but the last time I was in the UK I was in Scotland and they didn't have it. Didn't have time to get down to England on that trip. Aside from that, Munich is a great beer city. Lowenbrau, of course, is special.
  19. You haven't seen my T-shirt "The Sun Is Trying To Kill Me" - I didn't create it, it was available so I'm not the only one who believes summer sucks. I will get one made that says, "If you can see your breath, it's a good day." That I firmly believe. (62 days until Fall)
  20. Summer Sucks. Can't wait for the Fall.
  21. Any progress? All I want to do is to switch my sign-on info from Netscape (which is no longer supported) to Firefox, my current browser. But I don't know my password. Can you send the password to me? When I request it through the system, nothing happens. I can give you my email address.
  22. If you're going to post as a football fan on a hockey site, it would be nice if you could spell the team's name correctly.

  23. I have done that. Not there. Also email sent to thc300@xxxxx.com (which I got at your site) bounces back to me because the STMP server has rejected the address.
  24. Yes, the email address is correct. I tried to send myself an email through Sabre Space and it didn't go through.
  25. I would like to change my password. However when I use help and click on the change password link I get returned to the Forum. If I attempt to re-register, it says that it will contact my email within 10 minutes but nothing is ever sent. Can you help with these problems?
