Soon we'll need a list of guys who have not had COVID yet.
-
hmmmm.... wasn't aware giraffes could catch COVID 🤷♂️

I have low expectations for Quinn this season in Buffalo. He's lighting up the AHL, but I'm not convinced his game is rounded out enough to stick at the National league level where it's much more difficult to convert.

Will Levi join Roch for a playoff run with the other young guns when his college season expires?

Dylan Cozens: naive kid, or culture change spokesman

Nah... Jack believed in the team too... he believed in the guys around him, he talked about Sam and Risto and Evander and the young guys in the pipeline (Asplund, MIttlestadt, etc..) taking this team to the playoffs down the road and he legitimately believed. All young players coming in to a rebuild say this... across all sports. It's boilerplate. -
Jonathan Quick played 2 seasons at UMass.... .920 / .929 His best NHL seasons he posted... .921 / .928 I've used Quick as a comparable for Levi since the trade. Both ultracompetitive individuals with freakish athletic ability and similar stature playing their college years for Hockey East schools.

I, for one, don't believe they're playing that bad. UPL needs to make a couple saves, should be at worst a one goal game, or tied 1-1.

Murray doesn't skate particularly well, he doesn't shoot the puck very well, he's not a setup guy, doesn't make his teammates better. Hands are average at best, doesn't contribute defensively. He fills a role at this time (net front/size), but if the braintrust have identified him as part of the "solution" moving forward, we're in trouble. My forecast: career AHL'er with short stint call-ups when Buffalo is contending for a playoff spot. Do better.

He leads the team in TRpm. He's not flashy, just does his job very well. ============================================================== Team Player TRpm GP +/- exp+/- %min BUF Mark Pysyk 10.32 33 2 -8.32 32.0 BUF Colin Miller 7.11 28 0 -7.11 27.4 BUF Mark Jankowski 3.65 4 3 -0.65 2.5 BUF Vinnie Hinostroza 3.29 31 -3 -6.29 24.2 BUF Brett Murray 1.93 15 -1 -2.93 11.3 That said, if they can replace him with a better veteran to mentor Power, then by all means upgrade. If you can do better... do better.

Will likely be more.

Peterka > Murray

Do better.

Disagree. Krebs creates offense, he did it last night and looked the part of a top 6 contributor. He's not going to score a ton, but he creates chances and finds open teammates. He looks nearly NHL ready IMO.

Tuch doesn't look comfortable yet, which is fine, he hasn't played in more than 6 months. He'll get better as the season wears on. -

The thing about Power is that he makes it look so easy. It doesn't look like he's really trying that hard, the puck just finds him and he always seems to make the right play. There was one pass he had that really stood out to me. He was back pedalling at his own blueline on a regroup and he fires a cross ice laser of a pass right onto the tape of a player existing the offensive zone who quiclky turns back up ice and creates a scoring chance. It's those little plays that you typically only see from seasoned NHL veterans that are routine for him, which as someone who played is more exciting than watching him score 3 goals.

Potentially World Junior gold, Olympic gold, and NCAA champion in the span of 4 months, plus mens a World Championship gold (2021) all before playing a single minute in the NHL.
-
World Juniors is more entertaining IMO. Won't miss the Olympics.
