  1. You don't think the fact he was born in the US had anything to do with Hockey Canada's decision? I do.
  2. Average age of NCAA players is 23, avg age of freshman is +20. Those aren't children. He dropped out of high school to make $$$$$$ in Europe. It shows you what he values most, and that's money. I see a lot of Johnny Manziel in him.
  3. Shows lack of character... when the going gets tough, he takes the path of least resistance.

Ha! I have to admit, I'm getting nervous... although I'm not cheering for losses (I swore I'd never do that again after last season). Sure, they're on a nice run, but let's see what the team looks like after the trade deadline.
  5. The one thing that really bothers me about Matthews is that he didn't complete his academic requirements to attend college.... namely finish High School (he was a junior in High School last year when he played for the NTDP and choose not to take additional classes so he could graduate and attend college in the fall). What does that say about what he's got between the ears? IMO, he's more likely to make other poor life decisions in the future.
  6. 17 year old defenseman rarely make Canada's world junior team. That, and he was born in Florida.
  7. He says that about all the UFA's... just a general yeah we'll offer them "something", and then proceed to give them a low ball offer and trade them if they don't sign.
  8. can't tell if that's a "HO HO!" or a "HOOOOO!"
  9. ROR is running on fumes. Hope he bounces back here soon. That said, Moulson with the hat trick!
  10. His "lack" of point production is no surprise considering he joined team who had one of the worst offensive seasons in NHL history (avg < 2 goals/gm). edit: OK, not "one of the worst" literally THE worst. The 2013-2014 Sabres are the lowest scoring team in NHL history at 151 goals (1.91 goals/gm). The 2014-15 Sabres are second lowest at 162 goals (1.96 goals/gm).
  11. no cookie set on your mobile device. anyway I like the current mobile experience.

Disagree on Foligno. He's only 24. He has size and speed (when he uses it). He has much more upside than McGinn, I'm willing to give him another 2 years to blossom.

still 3rd from the bottom https://www.talk.hockey/tank-tracker/ if BUF loses and EDM+TOR win, say hello to 29th place.
  14. ROR looks out of gas. Hopefully DB reduces his minutes the next few games.

McGinn and Foligno are nice bottom 6 guys. If they can be had for reasonable contracts, they should keep them. It's not like they're going to be over the hill veterans by the time this team is a contender.
  16. They just signed him to a 5 year deal. A buyout would be too costly after just 1 year. They'll prolly give him another year before pulling the plug. Hopefully he get it figured out over the off season. Price is that good.
  17. The Third Eich
  18. Weber has been playing well. I've been a critic of his, but was surprised to see he'll likely sit this one out.
  19. fast: Eichel accurate: Kane hard: Kane breakaway: Ennis
  20. http://www.generalfanager.com/players/390 tl;dr he has 1 year left at 3.1 no thank you
  21. why no moulson?
  22. Prust is dust. want nothing to do with him.
  23. Enroth, McNabb and McBain
  24. Yeah, I wonder too. Would be nice to see them add the extra 5ft for an outdoor game. I have a feeling that's not too far away.
  25. You're talking about a 200x100 Olympic ice surface, 15ft wider than NHL, which is just too much space IMO. Olympic: 200x100 NHL: 200x85 hybrid: 200x(92-94) Burke: 200x90 In fact, the new arena in Detroit will have the ability to expand from 85 to 90ft as Ken Holland is a big proponent of the slightly wider surface.
