GDT GDT: NY Rangers at Buffalo, 7:00 PM ET 12/1/2016

Yes. Sure it's one guy, but when that one guy is a superstar center, it changes everything. Consider how much better he is than Larsson and Grant... there's no dropoff when O'Reilly's line comes off the ice, hell I'd argue the pace picks up even more with Eichel's line. The team feeds off that. And now guys like Larsson, Foligno, etc.. can simply playing their expected roles on this team instead of feeling like they need to contribute offensively every shift. Everybody can settle into what they do best and it's showing. That said, when the is Kulikov coming back? I still think there's another level this team can play at when he comes back.. and Bogo to a lesser degree. -

Nice win but really disappointed that Moulson's production has dropped off since 15 came back and stole his ice time. I mean he just steps back in the lineup and no more PP1 for Matty Moulson their leading goal scorer... cmon Bylsma figure it out! </sarcasm> -
They were supposed to switch to smaller pants by the start of the season, but that fell through... because NHL. Now there is no timetable for goalie equipment changes.

The 46 defense? Worst/slowest second pairing in the league IMO. -

Anytime you get your stick wrapped around a guy like that it's an automatic call regardless of if you actually take the guy down. Shaw's an embarrassment.

Taylor Fedun -- Am I crazy, or is he pretty decent?
pi2000 replied to nfreeman's topic in The Aud Club
Paetsch was decent at times, but when thrust into a full-time role he suffered due to his defensive short-comings. Moving forward I think Fedun can be that guy who plays maybe 10-12 games a season in BUF as a depth guy in Roch. When is Kulikov coming back? -

Nathan Paetsch part II -
How about that power play tho? Bylsma has it dialed it in, give him credit where credit is due.... that's the reason they won the game yesterday.
-
I think these guys can still be asked to play if there are injuries or whatnot. Doesn't really mean anything in my book, Team Canada selection process is poisoned by politics.

Once you start playing a loose run-and-gun style game you develop bad habits... bad habits that you don't want to infect a young team. Bylsma is trying to teach them the right way to play. It's much easier to open it up a bit than it is to dial it back and play with some sense of defensive responsibility. I'm OK with what he did while Jack was out. Another angle to look at is that even when this team did open it for a few games and generate chances, they still couldn't find the back of the net.- 775 replies

nice video... the church of moulson approves!

If Buffalo somehow manages only 1 goal tonight, this board will implode.

Put the leading scorer on the 4th line? Shame on you! I'd go... 26-15-23 48-90-21 9-22-82 28-27-12

In the Sabres lockeroom... ReinO = Reinhart Snook = O'Reilly ...right?
-
He doesnt have any particular skill that jumps out at you, other than maybe his skating which he uses very effectively to create the majority of his chances which come in tight so he doesn't need to rely on his average shooting ability. I'm not saying he has no chance, but I'll be mildly surprised if he pans out into a quality player at the NHL level, which I hope he does and it's nice see him showing up regularly on the high flying London Kinghts scoresheet.

Skinny, fragile, subpar hockey IQ, below average shot velocity, poor face-off skills, average puck handling skills..... Look, I like him as a prospect, he was a good pick in the 3rd round as he's an above average skater with excellent speed and agility. Statistically he's reaping the benefits of getting plenty of ice time on a top junior team. If he can round out his game he has as good a chance as any other 3rd rounder, but there's a lot of areas he needs to improve on before we should even consider putting him in a Sabres sweater.
