  1. Watching the Knights/Ducks prospect game... Guhle looking good haha... He just got out of the box. No Zegras or Krebs today ? George McPhee is sitting right behind me... His commentary is hilarious. F-bomb after f-bomb.
  2. I agree. Last year Mittlestadt and Thompson dominated the tournament (at least the last few games, CM had a slow start IIRC)... so take that for what it's worth.
  3. Typical. Folks here need to stop being so defensive when we're discussing prospects, particularly when talking about parts of their game that need growth. Nobody here is bitching or complaining about Cozens. He's a fine prospect, and like ALL prospects there are areas of their game that need to and will improve with proper development.
  4. How was Cozens vision and awareness? Did he skate into traffic with the puck?
  5. I think he's going to be great.... a top contributor. 20g, 15a.
  6. He tested positive during competition... it's a stimulant... he cheated. This is gray area for the NHL, apparently they test for it, but it's not a suspendible offense? The rule is murky, and as I've stated before, cocaine is very very popular with these guys... not for performance enhancement but as a party drug.
  7. what part of the jersey is this from? or is that on the pants?
  8. Realistically, I'd say 2 maybe 3 of the following ever become NHL regulars.... with Olofsson and Thompson probably having the best chance. Olofsson has that shot, Thompson the size and hands... the rest of them just don't do any one thing exceptionally well. They're nice well-rounded prospects, but that's about it. And while UPL has everything you want in a goalie prospect, history tells us that goalie prospects are crap shoots. There's no way to predict how they'll react to the stresses of NHL starting goaltender duties, both mental and physical. Olofsson Asplund Thompson Routsalainen Davidson Pekar Samuelsson Borgen UPL
  9. I'm not sure you pay Skinner $9m to play on the second line? Watching Toffoli closely down here the past few years, I'm not sure he's a guy I'd target in a deal for McCabe. He plays a game similar to Laine... slow, low compete level... guy can shoot the puck tho. Just doesn't seem like a JBOT kinda guy (plus skater, high compete level, team guy).
  10. His play reminds me of Pastrnak. If I'm the Ducks GM there's no way I trade him unless I get an offer I can't refuse... and that's not Risto!
  11. I suggest we do a 2x superflex (QB,RB,WR or TE), no kicker, no defense, FAAB, keeper, and make it a cash league ($50 buy in?) ?
  12. I've watched Kase closely over the past few years here in OC. He's very gifted, flashes eye popping skill, but has had injury issues. I'd welcome him with open arms in exchange for Risto.
  13. Now why would Buffalo need to take on a bad contract for Risto? Answer: TRpm

  17. I get a very Ted Nolanish vibe from Ralph Krueger. Really nice guy, good team guy, positive, gets everybody pulling in the same direction... but will be consistently out coached, poor at in game adjustments, etc..
  18. My source says he wants to stay now after seeing those new sweaters.
  19. Why not a few road games?
  20. That doesn't speak well for the competition does it?
  21. I raced competitively in my age group for a few years after moving to California. Did many sprints and halfs, only 1 full IM. Anybody can do it. You'd be surprised how long you can go with proper nutrition and hydration. The hardest part isn't the race itself.. it's the discipline to get your workout in every single day while training. It needs to be the highest priority thing in your life for the better part of a full year. I'd recommend doing at least one full marathon and a tough century in the months leading up to the race. And an open water swim of race dist (2.4mi) if you can find one. For swim training I joined up with a Masters group at a local pool. 90min workouts, in the water at 6am... did wonders for my swimming, still sucked at it tho. For running, its absolutely imperative that you get properly fitted for running shoes or you will be miserable. For me, I quit triathlon after the IM. I was starting a family and it just seemed like a really really selfish endeavour at that time... and it is, your whole day is planned around your training, eating, sleeping, etc. I started playing hockey again after that because I missed the locker room atmosphere you only get from a team sport.
