  1. Florida, they play their assess off for Q.
  2. My source says Ralph's job is safe for the foreseeable future, and that we should expect to see player movement.
  3. This team simply doesn't care if they lose.
  4. Reinhart. Here's a guy who's been around a while now, puts up points, disappears for stretches. The thing with him is that if he's not scoring, he's a liability (weak skater, loses battles, poor top end speed, poor edge work). KA is trying to build a tough, gritty team... Sam just doesn't check those boxes. That said, one could argue that hey, he puts up points and the team is struggling to score, so why trade him? We'll, he has a very very tradeable contract, and his skillset could be very attractive to a contender, so the return should be significant.
  5. Gained a bunch weight while sick with covid. Couldn't taste anything, but still had a healthy appetite while sick. Went on a feeding frenzy once the taste came back which didn't help haha.
  6. Everbody seems to want them to lose, so they'll win this one... Eichel, Skinner, Okposo score. We all lament about where this team has been all season, but it's mostly because the Islanders just come out flat. As a result, RK boasts this is confirmation that his system works and KA signs him to a 5 year extension as they go on to lose the next 12 games.
  7. So if RK has the right approach, and KA is angry they don't compete and don't play with any grit... what's the solution? Which players do you think KA is referring to? Who lacks grit and compete? If I had to pick 1 guy that is softer than baby ***** to play against I'd start with a guy like Sam Reinhart.
  8. Exactly. I, for one, didn't really care if he spoke to the media or not. Everything that was said rings hollow if he just sits on his hands. Actions speak louder than words. Him being angry doesn't solve anything.
  9. As some who played at a high level, there's a distinct difference in the amount of "buzz" in the lockerroom when going into a game you know you can win vs a game you think you can win. Playing all these top teams night in and night out is taking it's toll and will only get worse believe it or not. I understand they're pros and thats what they get paid to do, but they're human. It's just a really ***** set of circumstances. I'd be OK if they tried a different coach, but hearing the players speak, I don't think it would change much... maybe briefly. They need confidence more than anything.
  10. If they were in the North division, they might be scoring a bunch, have a winning record and everyone would be excited for playoffs. The deck was stacked against them from the get go, plus key injuries, covid, little practice time with 6 new forwards trying to learn how to play with eachother, Eichel injury, 10 month layoff, playing in an 8 team league with 6 playoff teams from last year, etc.. That's why they're not firing anybody. So yeah it bugs me that everybody is spouting off about how they're on par with the tank teams, etc etc... without understanding that this season is unlike any other. That said, Ralph kinda sucks doesn't he?
  11. That's not a fair comparison. Imagine if that tank team played a top 5 team in the league most nights. They might have only 1 or 2 wins over that stretch. Not an excuse, but when a team is struggling searching for confidence, under normal circumstances they'd eventually play a team or two that are softies... Put up a bunch of goals and snap out of their funk. Buffalo gets the Flyers, Islanders, Bruins, Pittsburgh for the next 2 weeks, so this thing has the potential to snowball into the likes of something never seen before.
  12. Exactly, it sends a message to players and fans that losing is acceptable. How to build a losing culture. If this was rebuild, then fine, stick it out etc... but this is a cap team who expected to contend, there has to be a higher standard. DO BETTER
  13. they're 11-11-2 and just won 7-3, but they have a higher standard DO BETTER
  14. At least issue a statement of some sort to placate the fanbase.
  15. he needs an enema
  16. need a power play
  17. this was so predictable
  18. He hasn't even been GM for a year, they're not moving him anywhere. It really hope this means they're looking to fill a POHO/Czar type position. If so, this could be a candidate list: Rutherford Lombardi Babcock Julien Boudreau Milbury Lafontaine Hitchcock Larry Robinson Keenan Chiarelli Mike Gillis Dale Tallon Weekes
  19. 10 years too late, but I'll allow it
  20. One would assume any Eichel deal would include an established center and center prospect.... but we're talking about the Sabres, so....
  21. Yeah I get it... it speaks well for his character, as a rookie he's letting his teammates know what he's about. That's nice, but it doesn't move the needle wrt fixing what's wrong with the organization as a whole. Guys that I'd like to see fight in the next few games in no particular order... Reinhart VO Skinner Hall Eichel Dahlin Hutton Jokiharju
  22. It's true that he's playing well, but at $6m/yr he needs to be scoring and creating more.
  23. .. but how was the synergy?
  24. I agree with this. However, do you trust Sabres management to execute a trade of this magnitude? I certainly don't. With the state of the franchise, with the financial issues causing them to trim down a large chunck of their front office positions, I'm afraid the primary motivation behind an Eichel trade would be to dump salary.... meaning the return will most likely be underwhelming.
