  1. And Dellandrea for a 4th round pick. Two good adds to their bortom six and they only have up a late pick.
  2. Laine lost his dad that suddenly passed away. And his dad was also his best friend, his biggest support and advisor. Laine tried to be professional and also had some injuries to deal with. I am not suppriced it went the way it did with Laines health. But I think he will be back almost as good as ever. A team change on the other hand could do good. He is not just a PP specialist, but the pp goals he get are important for his coinfidence, and competing with Thompson for those goals is not good for neither of them imo. I would pass on Laine even if we traded Skinner for him.
  3. Since Sabres has invested money in young promising players and also have a promising prospect pool, the next thing is to invest in is two or three players that help the youngsters take the next step. It is like real estate business, you invest and then ad something to the investment to get some profit. How you do the complementary investment is what makes the difference, and unfortunately those are the skills I have doubts in at Sabres hockey management. And it can't go wrong this time.
  4. I came up with an outsider as 3C. Teuvo Teräväinen is smart enough to play center, he has a decent two way game and can play both pp and pk. He played center when they won the world juniors. I don't know how he is on faceoffs, we need to approve there, otherwise I think he could be perfect. And if one of our prospect centers make it to the line-up later, he could easily move back to wing.
  5. Jokiharju, Savoie and a 3 round pick?
  6. A defender like Pesce who would bring a balance to the roster and play big minutes when ever needed is definitely worth 8milj. Or Stephenson about 7 like our other centers. I don't know if that is what you meen with overpay, but it is my ceiling. It might be it makes resigning some Rfa difficult in coming years, but I think that is what the cap is for all of the teams that want to be competitive. The good thing is that the balance they bring, gives a possibility to go cheaper in some other part of the roster.
  7. I even agree with you that Helenius might be drafted that late, but in that case it is the steal of the draft.
  8. The most realistic list I've seen for the draft imo.
  9. Are there any rumours who they might be trading for?
  10. Interesting that Panthers drafted Hyman! In the 5th round!
  11. The Sabres pairings depend totally on Samuelsson, him playing 70-75 games at his best together with Dahlin and Power and Byram on the second gives an ok defense. I would like to have different balanced second pair but it works. The question is how much back up we need in case Samuelsson isn't healthy?? Or do we see him as a third pair guy until he has proof he is back in shape?
  12. Thumbs up for signing Amadio. I think a Jokiharju for Kerfoot could be a deal that works for both. Those two with Skinner is an interesting mix. Dumba on the second pair is where I hesitate.
  13. Tampa needs to make trades and they will, but definitely not with a team in same division. As with Tkachuk to Sabres - it's not going to happen. Sorry.
  14. Probably. There has not been any talk of the defensemen and upgrades what I have read of so you are probably right.
  15. Agree on that also. I understand moving on from Mitts but I would not have done it at trade deadline and not for a same type defender we already have. I have not changed my mind on trading Byram for a player that get a balanced roster. Or at least takes us a step closer to that.
  16. I think we will end up with Wennberg. In my dreams we trade for Lundell.
  17. If Seattle want to retool, and Adam Larsson would waive and be interested in signing for two more years at about the same 4m that he gets in Seattle, I think a trade with Jokiharju could work for both.
  18. Adams might give Krebs a last chance since we got a new coach. I think Adams works that way, he is willing to give more chances than other GMs. But it sure is the last for Krebs.
  19. If he stays healthy I absolutely think he will be close to Ekholm. But there is a big But.
  20. Two possible players for our 4th line are Grundström(Kings) and Mäenalanen (former Jets)
  21. I think he is a player that thinks team and teammates first. But I have not heard what his personality is like. When it comes to Europeans, except from the Swedes, their English speaking is usually not that good. This is something that especially is a problem for us Finns, and despite that we are a shy and silent people, not all, but many. That is things that matters when you draft a kid and hope for them to develop into stars. Long answer on a simple short question. But drafting and developing is a complex thing imo.
  22. Think he will be somewhere between Barkov and Kakko, closer to Kakko. And I would like to add that what I think we really need to draft now, with the prospects we already have, is heart and soul players. Unfortunately it is pretty hard to scout that when the players are 17-18 years old. So I vote for the safe pick.
  23. I do not see Helenius as a top 3, maybe top ten. Can be seen as a "safe pick" and thereby get drafted high. Stian Solberg is interesting, but ranked higher than I think he should be, played well tough against men for Norway.
  24. What is Sabrespace opinion of Amadio? A podcast I listen to liked him, could he be a Sabre?
  25. He signed his new contract on March 2nd. That might have something to do with it.
