  1. With 7.26 milj in capspace there has to be TP money left to bring some palm trees to western New York. Or overpay so they can afford to buy their own place in the caribbean sun.
  2. Coconut Kev did not fix the two most important problems during the summer. He relied on Samuelsson getting back to where he was two years ago, and did not get a RHD stay at home guy to play with Power or Dahlin. And he relied on Cozens and Quinn to play at the level we all know they can be, so no top six scorer or center. Buy doing that he played roulette with this season and that is something that should get him fired immediately. When the team has missed playoff for 13 years, you have to do all you can to prevent that from happening again. If they care for us fans.
  3. I have had big hopes for Cozens, but I am more and more thinking he needs to be traded. But a big questions is where and what do we get back?
  4. They did not choose between Joker and Risto, it was between Joker and Hakanpää, who has been injured since March and only played two games this season, before he was back on IR. That is a much harder lesson to Joker than Lindy making him a healthy scratch. Let's see how he responds, but he probably is on top of the list of players that will be traded as soon as someone takes him.
  5. Tokarski signed by Canes
  6. And Philly and Tampa won. Still can hope for Boston to loose.
  7. Interesting move by Ruff to spread the fire power on all four lines against a Wild with several injuries and new guys in the line-up.
  8. San José plays entertaining, so as long Sabres do not join that entertainment they might go home with all six points. Sharks have a good PP and they probably play Blackwood who has been excellent so far this season. Really hope we not see Celebrini and their other kids smiling and joking as they did when they won Red Wings.
  9. Tuch will be in the 4 nations tournament the way he plays! He is a beast right now!
  10. Always great to wake up in the morning to a Sabres win! Highlights and some coffee next.
  11. Fans on this board has been wishing for a more balanced defense for a while now. Power needs a steady stay at home RHD att his side. Names I come to think of, that even might be available, are Connor Murphy CHI, Rutta SJS, Carrier NSH, and as a bonus a cheap alternative, Pittsburghs St Ivany. At least Jokiharju has to go, as long as he has some value, but they probably has to retain half of his salary. Then there is the hope for a top six upgrade. Granlund will be traded by Sharks at some point, he can play all positions and special teams. But the fact is there are hard to find trade partners this time of the season. There were several options during offseason and nothing happened. And one thing for sure, if Adams makes a trade, it will be something totally different from what we wished for. At last something hypotetic that crossed my mind. What if there had been a bold move and we had sent Quinn and a first to Canes for Necas?
  12. Agree that the struggles some of the players have might be the first time in their lives. This is where the veteran leaders should come in, IF we hade some, to calm things down and remind them that there is always a next shift and keep moving those legs. And all of the real contenders have offensive pairs that works out no matter what. We have a good first line, but the rest is still loose pieces.
  13. This post made me think of the clip with McDavid in the locker room after they lost a Stanley cup game to Panthers.
  14. Teräväinen on the third line and Bertuzzi on their fourth last time I checked their projected line-ups. Things not going that well in Chicago.
  15. First step to deal with a problem is to admit there is a problem.
  16. A bit surprising for sure. But Atlantic is also the division where teams have most preassure on themselves, and that might not always come out in a good way.
  17. Kyle Dumbass might soon be available.
  18. NHL does not work that way. Maybe he could answer some questions if they are kind, like what he thinks about his daughters success on the tennis court? When the global series came to Finland this weekend, NHL gave journalists a list of questions they were not allowed to ask. For example no questions to the players about the leagues rules when checking to the head. Maybe NHL never visit Finland again if a local media would do their job properly? I like the high tempo hockey the NHL plays, and I like the Sabres, but the team owners, who also thereby own the league, and Bettman and the others who represent the league are full of *****.
  19. Donny Granato last season. Lindy Ruff now. A psychiatrist next season. That is where we are going.
  20. I have Martone as No1. Both size and points.
  21. There are a need to make trades, both on D and top 6, but I simply do not want Adams to be the guy who makes those trades. The Adams-special, trade away a C and not replacing with another decent caliber C, are trades that might never make him a GM again the day he leaves Sabres.
  22. Great weekend! A Sabres win over a division rival, and the night before Blomqvist played a huge game with 46 saves for Penguins. And now the local soccerteam made it to Finlands top soccer league. Amazing!
  23. This is something I have been wondering about also, so thanks for bringing it up.
  24. Agree! If UPL and Levi steels a point or two every now and then they buy the team time to fix all those things that need to be fixed.
  25. Players are traded, moved, put on waivers or benched all the time. It is how they are replaced that matters.
