If there are plans on playing both Thompson and Norris as C we need another RW. Schneider is a on top of my list of D, he is a perfect partner for Power imo. Zach Whitecload is the other D I think they should target. My big off season prediction is Marner to Vegas, and they need to clear space to make that happen.

I don't think Rosen is the same value as the 9th pick. I just named him as one of the assets I think should be used to upgrade the team before we use our top pick. I don't dislike Rosen, I just can't see him get a roster spot in Buffalo, even If he is a top player in AHL. That puts him on top of my list of players to trade. If a trade can't be done without our 9th. Then trade the pick, I'm not against improving the team, just want whoever completes next trade to try other options first.

It seems he has his playoff mood on. The same way he had in Liiga playoff and Worlds last year. Once he finds his way to keep that "win next shift"-mood going over a whole season he will be a NHLer.

I think it could be wise to keep the pick and in 3-4 years have a player on a cheap contract to hopefully put in the line-up. We have plenty of other assets to trade, like Rosen for example, that will never be roster players for Sabres but might be one on another team.

Rosen is the player I have in mind also, and pairing him with Clifton is a good idea. Hard to know however how highly teams value an AHL top scorer. Playing good in the Calder playoff might help us. I see Devils as a team that could be interested in Rosen, a swede about same size as Bratt. An upgrade over Samuelsson would be nice. Wonder how San Jose are thinking with Ferraro, do they want to trade him on deadline för pics or could they take on a player signed long term along with a sweetener?

The best way to get a good stay at home RHD might be to trade a decent winger to a team like Devils or Vegas. Are we willing to do that? And in that case who?

My opinion is that it is time to move on from Liiga. Next step should be SHL or Rochester, and I think it is time to fight for a spot in Rochester. But with all the prospects in the system I can also see Sabres trading his rights as a part of a trade for a defensive RHD.

Viljami Marjala has been playing for The Finnish national team in games pre to world championship. He scored a goal against Sweden two days ago. I read that Philly is the most likely destination for him. Can't understand why he doesn't want to sign with Tampa, a winning culture and the best coach in the league. It is ridiculous if he refused when they didn't want him in the playoffs.

Thinking it is rare to find a player that young, that seems to fit and find ways to be useful on every line, no matter who he plays with. On the other hand I think he would benefit from getting to play more constantly with same linemates. It is still to be found a player he creates a special chemistry with.

No, I do not disagree. What I am also missing is a line to put on the ice when opponents has a momentum and we need to push back, get the puck to offensive zone, and maybe get some of the momentum back. I can't figure out how to create a line like that from current roster, even with a Jeannot (who we definitely need) added.
