  1. I do not believe Kekäläinen would be a part of the organisation if there is an internal cap. Every trade probably still needs mr Pegulas blessing. That way Pegula can keep control. That is what I think. They still need improvment on every positions so I hope I am right. Otherwise there is only small chances to playoffs imo.
  2. Milton Gästrin is the only one of players mentioned above that I have seen play, and that not that much, but I think he would be a good second round pick. I am curious to see where goalie Petteri Rimpinen lands. He was The best goaltender I have seen play for Finland in WJC since Saros, better than Luukkonen and Annunen. He is small but should be drafted in the third round.
  3. Agree. Maybe they are counting on McKenna next year and are already starting to draft supporting players
  4. Penguins need a LD and we need veteran leadership. A Stanley cup winner on a cheap contract is a fit to me.
  5. The trade that makes most sense to me is Byram for Rust/Rakell. Rusts' NTC expire after the draft and I am not expecting us to trade 9 OA.
  6. It is not unrealistic at all. At the end of next season we will have the correct answer. Hard to tell about Doan, but Peterka probably will play on their second line and those points are about what I expect from him there.
  7. Some rebounds and netfront presence. We can use that. If he is anything like his father he raise the compete level also.
  8. It is a common problem among fans on that type of sites. They don't seems to get the whole picture or overvalue. Every now and then I entertain myself reading those, mostly they are frustrating (when thinking all Sabres ever want is draft picks) or hilarious, but there are some good ones.
  9. Absolutely! Another LD with five years 9,25AAV is not what we need.
  10. There was a Oilers mock trade on PuckGM that suggested they take on Samuelsson and Clifton in exchange for Nurse. They would have bought out Samuelsson and kept Clifton as a 7th for one year.
  11. Depends on what we can sign him for and how long. Maybe R Johnson, Rosen and a 2nd. If they add Schneider to the deal I add Byram.
  12. The signing of Marjala seems to be part of a strategy. Earlier they signed Atro Leppänen a 26yo LHD who had most points of all players in Liiga. They also signed David Tomasek a 29yo with two great seasons in Färjestad, SHL, the last season with over one ppg. Oilers are trying to find something useful in the european bargin bin. The Sharabanov to Flyers news are interesting, he and Michkov could be fun to watch.
  13. If we can make it a bigger deal that includes Crouse and the 4OA for Peterka, Rosen, this years 2nd rounder, and probably something more, it would be very interesting.
  14. I think this is spot on. We might be overpaying, but the chances to get what we want and need with Kekäläinen involved are increasing.
  15. Interesting. Thinking we might have a balanced D next season. And our first round pick this year is as good as gone. Kekäläinen is not running back something that isn't working, that's for sure.
  16. Karlsson and Whitecload are interesting. What do Vegas need in exchange that we have?
  17. I think Bear will be available as 9th, Martin probably not. Sabres drafting Bear though, is something I have a hard time believing in. I think they have drafted well the last two years, but I can't figure out if they have any visions when drafting, or do they just pick most skilled player available?

  19. Those long term projections puts us about 5 milj over the cap. Byram is the one that has to go imo. Finding a new partner for both Dahlin and Power for the rest of the money will be challenging even if we probably can sign Docker for a miljon less than projected. Unless we move Samuelsson and Clifton.
  20. Not much Liiga, mostly with the national teams. I don't think Liiga is good enough nowadays to form players straight to NHLers, there are too many teams there and not enough players to keep up the speed during games. As you wrote, Helenius played hockey with men as very young, he was good enough to take a spot on a top line, good for him. On the other hand there are young players that become Liiga players but there are a lot to still be developed in their game. Now Liiga is not a development league, those young players are learned how to manage and survive, to adapt to tactics so they can be a cost effecient solution, when they should be working on skating and such things.
  21. Agree. No need to rush players to a already young roster. Let them play in the AHL as long as needed. Better they have to fight to earn it and them being that sick and tired of playing in AHL, that they are doing everything they can to get to stay when they get the call.
  22. There was rumours telling that at some point during the season, but I also remember hearing Kreider had some injury issues this season. Hard to know what to believe. A deal with both Kreider and Schneider could be a interesting package if Rangers really want Kreider gone.
