  1. I would assume they’ll only broker a deal for a west coast team.
  2. I think that’s exactly what they’re going to do.
  3. https://www.nhl.com/sabres/roster/ UPL is there…
  4. For those if you who had Anderson for tonight, Meatballs agrees with you. It is pretty clear that Comrie is the least trusted guy right now.
  5. You know how you have to shake your mouse so Microsoft Teams and Outlook think you’re actively working and available? This is the GM’s version of that.
  6. You spelled Demko wrong 😉
  7. I heard Houser trains with Schenn in the off-season (they’re from the same area). In order to consider waiving is modified no trade, he asked the Sabres to ink his buddy to a deal. No I didn’t.
  8. If Subban has a long term injury, then maybe this makes sense. But there’s already four NHL contracts ahead of him. So it’s kinda weird. I guess I’ll have to be patient, but making up the rationale is a lot more fun.
  9. That would be wild because he’s 30 years old! His stats are alright for the defense in front of him (2.95, .903). I think it’s just as likely that he is REALLY good friends with an impeding free agent. Subban was much more fun than ol’ pointy finger Allen
  10. Are we breaking up with our favorite anthem singer??
  11. It’s because the players moved all have term remaining (even if pending RFA). This is not the traditional rental market.
  12. I guess we can’t say “Do Something!” Because he did. He did it. He signed Houser.
  13. But then why would we need another goalie signed to a contract?
  14. Most of the big moves involve players who have term left (McCabe, Timo, Jeannot, etc). What or who is going to set the rental market (Schenn, Jensen, et al)?
  15. I am ignoring Comrie’s season (the good and the bad) prior to his injury. November and its circumstances were a long time ago. I’m not saying Comrie has it…but I’m not saying he doesn’t. All I hear around here is “the team is winning in front of UPL” when he’s played like trash all month. Comrie has won three in a row…are we not going to say the same thing for him?
  16. Perhaps dramatic. I just think UPL is getting an unprecedented amount of run support. 15 wins and a save percentage of .893. His best AHL season was .900 in 35 games. I don’t think he’s the catalyst. He’s not NHL average.
  17. What’s his ask for AAV?
  18. So early indications is we all think Anderson gives the Sabres the best chance to win against Boston (including myself). Is this a statement game where we need to go that way? Just thinking that if Anderson is our best chance to win…maybe he goes Tuesday because it’s the best chance at two points? I am still Comrie Tuesday and Andy Thursday, but if they’re flipped I’m fine with it. Sure but what about the next week? That’s what the poll is about. Sorry if that wasn’t more clear.
  19. This is the perfect rental. And cost to acquire for 24 games of his services will be palatable. I support this.
  20. Based on how long the trade saga has been going, I think you’re right that they’re overplaying their hand and asking for more than market value. I agree there’s simply no way Quinn is involved in this trade.
  21. I’m quoting you because I like the discussion. I think you’re right. The Sabres are timid along the boards and don’t push the puck forward out of the zone well at all. They keep the play moving along the wall, but a lot of time it is backwards. Ice the freakin puck if you must. To me, that’s better than on your heels in your own corner.
  22. My main issue with UPL is rebound control. Also, I’m honestly trying to wipe the slate clean and only judge what I see from game to game, but I live in ROC and I’ve seen him a lot. UPL never had it here. I’m not giving up on him, but I think it would be generous to say he’s NHL average right now. If the goal is UPL’s long term development at the expense of this season, we can hope he gets hot. But I don’t expect it. If the goal is to get in the playoffs, I think the Sabres are better served sticking to the original Andy/Comrie plan. One thing I will say is I don’t want to spend assets to acquire a goalie in the next seven days. UPL should get every chance at the #1 spot next year.
