  1. Still ahead of the Senators and Blue Jackets in the east.
  2. So, he's capable of 6 shutouts over 3 games.
  3. Some people need to readjust their grades on a curve.
  4. I thought it said cheese aficionados. Never mind.
  5. Sabres not only need to look ahead in the standings to get to the next step, which is being in the playoff race, they will need to look at who's hanging around with them also. Sabres may be getting better, but things aren't getting easier.
  6. If he can play up to the hype here it would be great, but not expecting it. If he wasn't a right hand shot, he would be judged more harshly and that would probably be more accurate. Don't really see more than a 3rd pair to 7th d-man but people want to pencil him in as a top 4 based on him being a RHD.
  7. I think it's the Tre White factor, and it has to do with defensive backs and goalies. Not sure what it all means. Still like this signing better than the Anderson signing, I don't think they need a 41 year old goalie who's best playing days are in the past.
  8. I don't know why they didn't just draft the next Cale Makar or Connor McDavid with the 41st pick.
  9. I didn't want him to get in the way of Anderson's or Bishop's development.
  10. It was an answer in our pickup league, but we were always hoping for someone younger.
  11. I hear they are in the mix for Craig Anderson, it looks like the Sabres and retirement are the two interested parties.
  12. I see little reason to sign him early, I like Tage as a player, but it really was one year. Before that he produced 35 point over 145 games in his first 4 years of his career. It might be different if he progressed up to last years production season to season, but it has not been that path. He never had more than 8 goals or 6 assists in a season. If he is what we saw last season, even if that is his ceiling, they could save a few mil/yr over the length of the contract. If they sign him and they're wrong about getting that every year. it will hurt the team when they need to pay others. Paying him early after one very good season is not good business nor a good way to build a team.
  13. I can see honoring the player and their number, but I'm not sure the numbers should be retired except for rare circumstances. It might be better to more or less reserve the numbers as in not handing them out to camp bodies, AHLer's or fringe players. It was always an honor to put on a jersey where the number meant something to the team.
  14. So you're saying that a 7th rounder is worth more than nothing, seems somewhat debatable.
  15. Lindy says sometimes this an issue, then the internet twists it into this.
  16. He looks like a natural, from his body positioning and the angles he takes to his quick fluid change of directions. He seems to be thinking plays ahead and seeing multiple possible scenarios that could take place and reacting accordingly. I really can't get over how comfortable he was out there. I knew this was who he was, but he didn't look fazed at all by the speed of the NHL, both the players and the speed the game itself. The kid didn't miss a beat.
  17. Create ticket demand by moving them into the Harbor Center for games.
  18. I say... "Do what you can, with what you have, where you are."
