Sad news. SJ scout and former player Bryan Marchment has passed away in Montreal. No cause of death noted.

What were you the most wrong about regarding a Sabres draft pick?
Flashsabre replied to mjd1001's topic in The Aud Club
Baptiste, Bailey, Fasching were the future at one point. Kassian, Adam and Foligno were going to usher in a bigger, physical Sabres at one point. Grigs and Girgs were going to solidify the middle for the foreseeable future. Many Sabres prospects the past decade have not developed as advertised. The Kassian for Hodgson trade and Hodgson fizzling out with a back injury. Nylander being Nylander. So many to choose from in the land of failed young Sabres -
Kevin Allen says it’s likely that Brent Burns will be moved. He is from Ajax about an hour away. Not saying it will happen but if SJ would retain some salary he would be and interesting mentor for Power. He probably controls his own destiny and Buffalo is probably not high on his list unless he wanted to be closer to his hometown.

His two daughters own the team at the moment.

https://www.sportsnet.ca/nhl/article/nhl-scouts-analysis-how-to-prepare-a-list-for-the-draft-table/ A good read from a former scout about how he would construct his list for this year’s draft.

Murray is owed $7 million this year and $8 million next in cash. I don’t think Terry wants to spend a lot of cash. They will be just over the minimum of the cap floor. The Bishop deal helps them get there but the actual cash paid is less then $1 million. We shall see but I don’t think that is a deal they look at especially with Murray being so unreliable.

2022 UFAs, Who do Sabres have a chance at
Flashsabre replied to North Buffalo's topic in The Aud Club
I have a feeling someone is going to give Campbell $6x5 years and by January will be like “Um how do we move him” -
Pronman is saying his info is Sabres looking at Lekkerimaki at#9. He was the guy who said Sabres were leaning to Quinn two years ago so that is interesting.

2022 UFAs, Who do Sabres have a chance at
Flashsabre replied to North Buffalo's topic in The Aud Club
If MAF goes back to Minny then Talbot becomes available. That would be in their ballpark. -
Casey DeSmith back to Pitt on a 2 year deal. $1.8 per
-
Move him or Bryson to Vegas for Hague. They need to move out money and will be looking for cheap options that can play minutes.

See, great minds think alike😂 If this poster says to mark his words then the Sabres have to take him.😀 With Hutson I just found it interesting that Adams and crew mentioned about how they look at family members for growth patterns and then Hutson mentioned about his doctors saying he will grow a few more inches. I know Craig Button loves the kid. He will be an interesting one to follow in a few years and see how he ends up.

At #9 I’m hoping to see Nemec or Jiricek slide or Savoie, Lekkerimaki or Kasper be the pick. Not interviewing Kemell I think is a tell that he won’t be the pick there. 16 is wide open. Does a guy like Nazar fall there. Do they take Yurov. Is Geekie there and do they like the value. Do they have one of the LHD ranked there. Are one of the Swedish forwards there that they like. #28 is an absolute crapshoot.
-
LOL it might be worth it just to see you snap😀 I’m not dying on a Hutson hill. I just think he is the ultimate swing for the fences if he does grow a few inches. McKenzie has him at 40 so he might be an option at #41 although there will be other good players in that range.

The Swing for the Fences Draft round: Savoie, Yurov, Hutson Hutson mentioned his doctors say he should grow a few more inches. He is the most dynamic offensive dman in the draft. He is interesting and would be great at #41. No idea if he makes it to there though. It is going to be so wide open after the top 10. This is going to be such a crazy draft. I can see Arizona taking Gauthier at #3. I could see one of Nemec and Jiricek not being the the first 2 D selected and being there at #9. The Russian goalie being detained will probably muddy the Russian angle of the draft even more. I wonder if Adams loaded up on 6th and 7th round picks because they have a couple Russians in mind that they think will really fall to that area. Guys that might have 3rd round grades but could be available at the end of the draft because of current conditions.

Bold Sabres Prediction for the 2022-23 Season
Flashsabre replied to Doohickie's topic in The Aud Club
Adams will trade for a starting goalie and half this board’s heads will explode not knowing what to complain about😛 -
Savoie would be the guy I would be happiest with at #9. He reminds me a lot of Briere with the build, skating, shot and feistiness. But with the injection of the Analytics Dept and Forton and crew’s work the past few years I will be happy with whoever the pick is there. If we keep all 3 picks I think we will be adding 3 very good pieces even if some might disagree with the individual picks at the time.

Sabres Re-Sign Craig Anderson to 1 Year 1.5 Million AAV Extension
Flashsabre replied to Brawndo's topic in The Aud Club
Bob, Reimer, Quick, Gibson, Blackwood, Talbot If MAF goes back to Minny, Varlamov, Hellebuyck if the Jets blow it up, Allen, both Washington goalies, Georgiev are all names that have been mentioned that could be available. -
Sabres Re-Sign Craig Anderson to 1 Year 1.5 Million AAV Extension
Flashsabre replied to Brawndo's topic in The Aud Club
Karmanos said in an earlier interview that UPL needed more time in Rochester. He needs to dominate down there for a stretch and be a difference maker. Mostly he needs to stay on the ice. -
Sabres Re-Sign Craig Anderson to 1 Year 1.5 Million AAV Extension
Flashsabre replied to Brawndo's topic in The Aud Club
So upset that Adams said Anderson is for backup and they are looking for a starter. Nothing was more enjoyable then seeing the constant posts about how they were going to do nothing and it was going to be the same as last year😛 -
Nic Hague and James Reimer. I feel like these will be two acquisitions this summer.
-
Scouch has reservations about Savoie yet still ranks him high in the top 10. Scouch is in love with transitions. Guys that can skate the puck out of the zone, thru neutral ice and into the offensive zone. This is his biggest reason for loving Lambert. I think he places too much emphasis on it but it is his thing.
