  1. Conditional 1st and conditional 4th. Yikes
  2. I went on the Habs board at hfboards and some fans there were laying out the situation: apparently a lot of fans do not like the new front office there and a lot of fans wanted Shane Wright as the pick. So they see Slafkovsky as the unliked FO’s pick instead of the fan’s pick of Wright and thus some are almost rooting for Slaf to fail. Sounds ridiculous but this is pro sports fandom. I don’t think he is ready to play this season from a skill and production aspect but when you are 6’3, 238 lbs 1OA pick you are going to play in the league right away. Hope he does well but Montreal is the last place you don’t want to do well in.
  3. It is impressive that their 4th and 5th round picks this year formed a really good d pairing at this tournament. The Sabres ability to find players at all points of the past couple drafts is what has really lifted the pipeline. The quality of the invitees to this tournament was impressive as well. The scouting dept. has been doing work😀
  4. Kozak, Rosen, Cederqvist, Kisakov, Komarov were all really pleasant surprises. Kozak looks like a 22 year old 2nd round pick. Just so well rounded, Peca is going to love mentoring him all season. Savoie and Kulich were just what you would expect. And Savoie impressed me not for his offensive chops but for his dogged work ethic, defensive awareness and positioning, work on the PK and at the dot. Kulich is a really explosive player, reminds me a ton of Peterka. Lindgren’s skating is an elite trait. If he can develop the rest of his game under Sutter this year they could have something there. Best team and tournament so far. Tons of speed and skill on display.
  5. Rosen looks like he isn’t hustling but he is just skating by people. Just so fluid with his speed.
  6. I think Appert said last year that JJ has three goals their December and then exploded the second half of the season.
  7. Tough start for the goalie. Hopefully he can settle down
  8. If you haven’t watched Neuchev, here are highlights of a game from last year. He is 79 in white aka they guy doing everything with the puck😀
  9. Pronman is an issue😁
  10. Encouraging to hear. If he has improved his skating to pro level already they might have something here.
  11. I asked this somewhere else. If he can be signed before the season then they should do it. He has looked good at rookie camp and has played well for 2 games here. For a team that is lacking in D pipeline depth Sova would be a nice add.
  12. I just watched the Jets-Browns highlights. Just Wow! Browns are going to Browns. The shots of their fans at the end was priceless.
  13. And the best part is that none of our best young players/prospects are unlikable pricks😁 They have really assembled a group of young talented high character prospects. Just as important is that there seems to be a real synergy throughout the organization from Adams and the FO to Granato down to Appert, Peca and crew. The next few years should be really exciting watching these kids grow.
  14. Apparently the Sens are going to play with a short bench tomorrow. 3 Sens got hurt vs the Habs and they don’t want to play Sanderson and Pinto tomorrow.
  15. Insane. Raiders fans looked devastated.
  16. So last year the Colts were knocked out of playoff contention by losing to the Jags. Owner Jim Irsay was embarrassed and furious and demanded changes. Today the Colts go into Jacksonville to get revenge and get shutout 24-0.😳 I wouldn’t want to get back on the plane back to Indy.
  17. Why are we still talking about Ullmark? Who cares.
  18. What a comeback for Tua and the Dolphins. Those wide receivers are going to be a problem. Baltimore’s defence doesn’t looks as dominant. All teams in the AFC East have a win now. Let’s get the 2nd win tomorrow Bills.
  19. He has been my biggest pleasant surprise. He is big, plays physical but there is some untapped talent there it looks like. He needs to work on his feet if he is going to play in the NHL one day but him and Lindgren have been a very good pair for two games here, very ying and yang.
  20. I think bringing Rosen over was a great move. Letting Appert, Peca and the crew get a hold of him will do wonders for his development. He is a player with a lot of development runway in front of him. He won’t come in in October and blow the doors off of the AHL, he will probably struggle but as the year goes on I think he will come a long and by the end of the year he will start to take off. It helps a lot that he is now familiar with the Amerks coaching staff and that there will be a big group of talented kids on the Amerks this season that he can fit in with.
  21. I never watched Savoie play in full games. All my knowledge of him was from highlight packs or scouting videos that focused on his skill. watching these two games it has been his work ethic that has impressed me the most. You can see why Adams drafted him because he fits exactly what he wants: high character, fearless, works his tail off all the time. He has seemed solid on face offs and d zone coverage as well.
  22. Full barn full of kids and the Sabres put on a fun show. Everyone looked good tonight. Outside that 5 minute breakdown the Devils really couldn’t play with the Sabres speed and skill. Sova stood out in a good way many times tonight. Someone that knows the rules better can chime in but can the Sabres sign Sova to a contract? I know once the season starts he goes back into next year’s draft. For a team that needs some more d prospects he has looked good in d camp and the first 2 games here. Komarov plays a style that is needed here. For those who are wondering, Konarov’s style is basically what Lybushkin brings to the table. Kulich, Rosen, Kisakov, Cederqvist, Rousek, Weissbach, Kozak are going to be a lot of fun in Rochester.
  23. Don’t do this to me😛
  24. Appert, Peca and Weber are a pretty good team to develop these kids.
