  1. The next Danny Briere? One can hope....
  2. @woods-racer Now you can say it's the 7th OA, but, not for 13 mil, for the 16th OA and whatever the amount left over from the retained. In this case, yes, Matt fired the bullet, we didn't dodge it.
  3. Congrats to Mr. and Mrs. Thompson on the birth of your baby. Best wishes, it's a great day for your family.
  4. This question requires the team bring back the "Derek Roy Test".... Let's not re-live those days.
  5. Meat on the bones? "He dabbled in some discussion....." I'd say Ottawa isn't giving up the 7th OA to drop Murray. But even still, the early reports concerning Buffalo were "an additional asset", that could be anything. It could be a new garden hose for Terry so he can "de-link" anything linking to the Sabres.
  6. I didn't see anything about the 7th. I read "an additional asset".
  7. Dodged a bullet here, thank you Matt. And Kevyn......what in tarnation are you doing?
  8. I wouldn't worry about who the Sabres are linked to, Terry has the garden hose ready.
  9. Where are the articles on the Sabres being linked to a Stanley Cup run? Those are what interest me.
  10. I agree. Curious as to which potential starting goalies have been rumored to be potentially on the block.
  11. The Pegulas are a part of our family, I would like to extend a get well soon and I am hopeful for a speedy and full recovery for Kim.
  12. No, not at all.
  13. I sit or stand quietly. I am a veteran, that tune has had deep meaning for myself in any event, for decades.
  14. Wait the year, pay 0 in assets. This gives the team another whole season to further progress. They'll be fighting for a playoff spot, a decent 50/50 they can earn one. The assets bolster the pipeline for the future with potential. A 34 yr old Kane on a 2 or 3 yr deal, with an even stronger team of youth who have accumulated some experience appears to be a good fit imho.
  15. Many here hitting the mark, and missing the mark altogether. This is a cap compliant move with very little money going out in actual cash from the Pegulas. Take a look around you, the current powers that be are crashing the not only the economy, but the currency, retaining what you can in savings while hitting your "minimum to survive" goal isn't just for those looking to save every penny, it's everybody's mantra in this environment, especially the wealthy.
  16. Keep all 1st and 2nd rdrs, make the picks, build from within.
  17. Sadness, and a profound sense of wanting to be a part of it, as an audience member. Tonight doesn't just close the longest running chapter in my personal experience as a Sabres fan, it closes a chapter on the Sabres themselves. This will be a historic night, 20 yrs from now I'll be telling my grandchildren, who will hopefully love hockey as I do, that I lived the entire RJ experience, from start to finish.
  18. From what little information there is, sounds like she's headed for the scrapyard.
  19. The seals on the doors and dog handles go bad over time. The ship hasn't had its hull serviced in a long long time. The epoxy patching isn't enough, it needs a shipyard.
  20. Nice game. Like how the team is playing to win, never giving up.
  21. Welcome back PA! Now, let's ride in to the off season with one goal.......pin up the Stanley Cup posters, and "Let's Roll"!!!
  22. "I'll miss you most of all, RJ" RJ has been the voice of the Sabres for nearly my entire life. I was born in 70. It is a somber, humbling feeling to watch as the sun sets on this magical broadcast era of Sabres hockey. What a fantastic ride we all have shared with him. I wish him nothing but the best in his years ahead. So here's to you RJ, you have, are and forever more be "Top shelf, where momma hides the cookies"!
  23. I believe it is the freedom to play without the pressure of the playoff race. They haven't played well with any consistency until this latest stretch of games, and while they are learning to be a cohesive unit on and off the ice together, they are doing so with no pressure on them, making it fun to play hockey imho.
