Wait the year, pay 0 in assets. This gives the team another whole season to further progress. They'll be fighting for a playoff spot, a decent 50/50 they can earn one. The assets bolster the pipeline for the future with potential. A 34 yr old Kane on a 2 or 3 yr deal, with an even stronger team of youth who have accumulated some experience appears to be a good fit imho.

Many here hitting the mark, and missing the mark altogether. This is a cap compliant move with very little money going out in actual cash from the Pegulas. Take a look around you, the current powers that be are crashing the not only the economy, but the currency, retaining what you can in savings while hitting your "minimum to survive" goal isn't just for those looking to save every penny, it's everybody's mantra in this environment, especially the wealthy.

Sadness, and a profound sense of wanting to be a part of it, as an audience member. Tonight doesn't just close the longest running chapter in my personal experience as a Sabres fan, it closes a chapter on the Sabres themselves. This will be a historic night, 20 yrs from now I'll be telling my grandchildren, who will hopefully love hockey as I do, that I lived the entire RJ experience, from start to finish.

"I'll miss you most of all, RJ" RJ has been the voice of the Sabres for nearly my entire life. I was born in 70. It is a somber, humbling feeling to watch as the sun sets on this magical broadcast era of Sabres hockey. What a fantastic ride we all have shared with him. I wish him nothing but the best in his years ahead. So here's to you RJ, you have, are and forever more be "Top shelf, where momma hides the cookies"!

I believe it is the freedom to play without the pressure of the playoff race. They haven't played well with any consistency until this latest stretch of games, and while they are learning to be a cohesive unit on and off the ice together, they are doing so with no pressure on them, making it fun to play hockey imho.

So Toronto rides in to the playoffs with no successful moves on....net minder...... I love it 😀

While some are pointing to the Sabres best intensity effort of the season, it was hardly their best game. They gave away the puck multiple times in errant passes and panic moves in their own zone throughout the game. Calgary's inability to capitalize is on them. But the Sabres still panic under the slightest pressure in their own zone. There is real concern there, and if not, there should be.

I agree So, to recap, buy the team, shed some tears for your younger self hero, proclaim the team exists to win, then commence to destroying the finished product for a decade, buy the larger profit making product in the market, prepare to dump the near worthless product you created, all while building a couple of cool projects in the market..... If Pegula sells the Sabres, they are as good as gone. May as well tear down the arena. Congrats Terry Pegula, you've managed to destroy one of the most die hard hockey fan bases in the NHL, you've successfully made a small market team much much smaller. All while dragging that same fan base through the last 10 yrs of the clubs existence in to hockey hell.

How can anyone support snoop? He advocates for killing police officers in his songs, inciting violence against them. Cops are dying and at a rate that's accelerating. The NFL is a disgrace for showcasing him.
