There are several different avenues including FA but you left off Brayden Holtby & Mikko Koskinen. We could also go the RFA route and try to steal Varlamov from the Capitals or Oettinger from the Stars but then we have to think they'd retaliate when guys like Dahlin, Power and others contracts become available. Also on the trade front you have John Gibson, Jonathan Quick, James Reimer or Hill from San Jose. Gibson seems unlikely because of years left on contract but Quick or Reimer would be solid stop gaps imo.

I never said they would have started this year. I’m just saying you’re sitting here saying he should be signing someone and we couldn’t even get guys to play in Rochester let alone an NHL starter. I feel it’s going to happen but the quality of player may not be what some are expecting.

It was a no from Matt Murray, no from Linus Ullmark, no from Portillo and a no from Levi. Holtby, Quick, Gibson, Reimer or Hill at this point as I don’t think we have a legit shot at Keumpfer or Campbell.

I have a feeling any goalie we get will be mediocre to you.

I don’t think this has to do with Adams waiting it out. Like you saw with Matt Murray it’s going to be tough to get a legit goalie here.

I knew it would be difficult for the Sabres to find a quality G. I don’t think GMKA is sitting on his hands but I think it’s going to be tough. Most G with a NMC probably have Buffalo on the no trade list, a quality FA probably wants to play for a contender so maybe a guy like Holtby with something to prove would want to come here?

I thought the Sabres had an excellent draft, many skilled forwards imo and the best G prospect imo.

Throwing into the AHL right away is probably not the right way to go about it.

I think he means to not pay for. Brennan should have been selected after Topias, before Kokko that's for sure.

He was the only G prospect I liked so I’m very happy with it. I feel this means Portillo will be part of a deal if/when we decide to trade for 1. Also seeing G Kokko go to Seattle makes me like the pick even more.
