  1. I haven't been to a Sabres game since Jack Eichel played in the blue/gold scrimmage game as a rookie. I'm not even sure if that would be considered a game.
  2. Well that blows, it showed him as an UFA in sportrac.
  3. I hope RHD Connor Murphy in FA.
  4. Thompson, Tuch, Skinner (by default), Okposso (by default), Krebs, Cozens, Asplund, Girgensons, Dahlin, Samuelsson, Jokiharju, Fitzgerald. Again, Middlestadt hasn't shown anything to me at least (I know I'm just a nobody) that he should be given a roster spot, normally at 23 years old you can at least tell he has a place on this roster whether it be on a bottom line or a top line and I don't even think he deserves a bottom line spot right now but that could easily change down the stretch. I know people are going to think I'm nuts for stating this but that's what my eyeballs are telling me and no I'm not blind (20/20 vision). Victor Olofsson could probably net us a RHD but in reality it will probably be a draft pick, I don't see a spot for him on this roster.
  5. No not at all, I'm sure it comes off that way on here. I value everyone's opinions even if it differs from mine. Point away, I'm more of a football stats nerd than Hockey, I love Hockey but when it comes to prospects it's tough to follow since i have no clue where to watch them other than just highlight videos on youtube or going to a Rochester Americans game. That would be awesome if Power won the Championship with Michigan then joins the Sabres and helps them win, man that would be some season!
  6. Ok he looks like the 40 goal scorer ...Better? I really haven't been a fan of Bryson either but I give players props who deserve it and he had an overall excellent game imo. I disagree on Dahlin but it doesn't matter either way because if this is going to be who he turns into then it doesn't matter when it started, as long as it continues. Again, I don't follow college hockey so I have no clue when that will be but I imagine it's soon. I agree i think Samuelsson will be special. I have no choice but to give Middlestadt time because he's on the team that I watch, right now and even last season it seems like the only time he does his scoring is when there is nothing on the line for the season. He came on late last year when we already were out of the playoff picture, He got hurt again this year and rinse repeat. He's 23 years old and the time is ticking on him for sure.
  7. Great win there, anytime we beat the Leafs it's good times! A few takes from the game: This was definitely the best games in a long while for Skinner and Jacob Bryson. I have been down on Bryson who is looked very average at times but this was a very solid game. Skinner looked like the 50 goal scorer from a few years ago on this night and he was having fun out there which was great to see. Rasmus Dahlin- Again I don't know what happened at the all star break but he is night and day better, showing his toughness not letting anyone get away with cheao shots to our goalie or teammates, playing a much better defensive game also. I see a few comments about him not being tough enough blah blah blah but this is a totally different Dahlin from before the all star break, nobody is going to tell me otherwise. I'm really getting excited for the arrival of Owen Power joining the team soon, I'm not going to act like i know the exact date but more announcers from other teams are acknowledging it so I'm guessing soon. Mattias Samuelsson is really turning into a solid defensemen, I liked him when we drafted him and he was a bit out of position on that goal we gave up tonight but I love the diving for blocked shots and getting the puck out of our zone quickly and calmly. If we can add a few RHD and a solid veteran goalie in FA I think this defense is going to be a bitch to play against soon. I know Casey Middlestadt has been injured but even from last year I'm not really seeing much more than an average player. The announcer for the Leafs stated Middlestadt might be playing wing because he's getting his legs back but I just don't think he's good enough at C imo. He has time to turn it around but he doesn't hit, doesn't go to the boards to try to get pucks, doesn't go in front of the net, I'm not a fan...Yet!
  8. Tuch isn't going anywhere, we finally have a leader who hits, plays with grit and can score! I'm not giving that up for a 1st, not a chance! He's the type of guy who these young kids can look up to, his style of play and hard working mentality are perfect for what we're looking to do here.
  9. Jason Peters, Pete Peters, Scott Peters does it really matter? 🙂
  10. He was the first to post the trade over Friedman and others?
  11. I hate all of this, from what I'm reading many Russians are completely against this. Instead of not letting Russian players play how about not letting them send money back to Russia for any reasoning. Facebook is impossible to be on, so much hatred on there.
  12. To think the Sabres are feeding Jason Peters some top shelf information is laughable. Maybe he heard something through the grapevine but this seems more like him saying something bold in hopes it comes true imo.
  13. Like GM Tim Murray stated years ago about free agency which I believe true, he said "It's not hard finding players to take our money" or something along those lines. I would like the Sabres to overpay for 2 veteran RHD for a year or 2 contract, I'm not sure if that's possible but I'd like it. We have 22M to get to the cap floor let's spend it wisely and in places to help us develop. 2 RHD I'd go after would be John Klingberg (DAL) and Connor Murphy (CHI), both play a solid game and both would help Dahlin and Power grow imo. Also a veteran Goalie to help progress UPL also, same mindset would be to overpay on a 1-2 year deal and my targets would be Darcy Keumper (COL), Thomas Greiss (DET), Korpisalo (CBJ), Brayden Holtby (DAL), Jarislav Halak, Marc Andre Fleury (Pipe dream). Whatever money left over you can resign Hinostroza if you want or other low level guys. So just a few moves can really bolster the roster. LW Jeff Skinner, C Tage Thompson, RW Alex Tuch LW Peyton Krebs C Dylan Cozens RW Jack Quinn LW Rasmus Asplund C Casey Middlestadt RW J.J. Peterka LW Zemgus Girgenson C Vinny Hinostroza RW Kyle Okposo LHD Rasmus Dahlin RHD John Klingberg LHD Owen Power RHD Connor Murphy LHD Mattias Samuelsson RHD Henri Jokiharju Or we could just go all in on 2 guys, 1 RHD P.K. Subban or Kris Letang and G Marc Andre Fleury or Darcy Keumper. I don't think it will be hard to get guys to come here if we're giving the most money imo. Some just want to win it all but the money is sometimes too good to pass up.
  14. It was a brutal game to watch as a Sabres fan, they desperately need the vets back in this lineup.... Guys like Eakin, Hagg are just playing way too much, it's clear they aren't good enough to be on this roster. I saw Hagg on 2 of the 4 goals just skating around aimlessly, if you rewind the first goal of the game he leaves his guy to go in to an open area where nobody is and leaves the goal scorer wide open. Why would he leave a man to skate into open ice? Baffling.
  15. Unfortunately I think we're realistically going to have another rough season next year and we'll struggle in streaks like we have all throughout this year but I'm confident that we will be competitive and that we've found the right HC and GM, there will be improvement next season but it won't come until the season after that where we're actually vying for a playoff spot imo
  16. I'm sure the hope by management is that it will be C Tage Thompson, RW Alex Tuch, LW Peyton Krebs, C Dylan Cozens, RW Jack Quinn, LW J.J. Peterka and on defense LHD Rasmus Dahlin, RHD Henri Jokiharju, LHD Owen Power, Player not yet named, LHD Mattias Samuelsson, player not yet named. Goalies- UPL, Devon Levi but we will be hard pressed to think every player will work out so we'll have to see who pans out but all these players should be in the lineup by next season. I don't have Middlestadt listed as his injuries are starting to mount up and when he is on the ice I don't see anything in his game that makes me believe he should be in that core group but that's just my opinion. I think we should trade both Ryan Johnson and Victor Olofsson for RHD, I think both could net us core RHD pairs, Oloffson right away I'd say at deadline and Johnson more towards draft time.
  17. Even the best teams put out these kinds of games throughout the season, it's one of those games where nothing is working for them no matter what they do. This year is all about the prospects getting playing time whether it's good, bad or ugly on the ice and it sure was bad and ugly tonight. I loved Dahlin's fire tonight, I really hope this is who he becomes as a player. I also like Matias Samuelsson's game, he was hitting and getting the puck out quickly. I'm not sure why Biro was called up before Peterka, a Rochester thing perhaps? You could just tell from the first period that they were all just out of sink and now onto the Blues.
  18. I love Dahlins fire tonight! I don’t care what the score is if Dahlin can be a scorer who also destroys people I’ll be a happy fan.
  19. Can’t we just get a young guy in place of Cody Eakin? That guy is useless.
  20. If you slow down the play, Dahlin is coming in full steam and Johnson has 2 hands on his stick and pushes Dahlin in the chest but the force of them colliding brings the stick into the face area. He did finish the game so I'm not sure what happened there, I heard on the radio that he was sore so they wanted to be cautious about it.
  21. But would you have said nice hit?
  22. I just want to ask a serious question without being called a hater or that I have an agenda. If Dahlin would have made that hit instead would you be ok with it? or congratulating him? Please think about it clearly before answering. I know exactly what i would have said...."Now that's the Dahlin I've been looking for". I get that many are pissed because we not only lossed the player but they went down the ice and scored a goal to win the game. I still don't see it being a terrible hit but i grew up watching hockey in the 80's so I'm assuming that's why it doesn't bother me as much
  23. So he has become tougher? I'm not seeing it but if you think so that's cool. Like I've stated I like his play since the All star break, I like how he's blocking shots and playing a better defensive game, not making stupid passes that get intercepted and taken back for a goal. In general I'd like us to get tougher, add some bigger, meaner players through the draft, that's all I'm saying.
