This might already have been stated, but what gets this guy to the draft position he got to? Other than the small sample U18 World's, everything else in his stat-line doesn't look so good. PPG in the Swedish jr league looks awfully bad to me... Or am I underrating the league compared to CHL where PPG is not mid 1st round calibre?

I'm not sure if this has ever been said before, but blowing one year of the ELC is not as bad as it sounds. If you can get a guy to his first RFA contract before he starts peaking, you have a chance to get through RFA at a much lower salary than you would if he had one additional year of development. You do lose him to UFA a year earlier, but the savings over their RFA period might somewhat make up for it, especially if you can lock the player up for long term under market rate. For example, I tend to think the Leafs could have had Marner for way cheaper than they do right now if they wouldn't have given him the 2 extra years in London. This of course would have freed up additional cap room to actually sign some of their other RFA and UFAs instead of losing them for nothing.

I think hot sauce is actually the star of that show. The chicken wing is just the delivery mechanism.

If I had to choose I'm taking pizza over wings, but if you put a tray of wings out at a party, they're invariably gone within minutes. Try that with your cheese log and triscuits! IMO I think wings aren't under or over rated. They're just rated.

I think I'd smoke/grill them before going to an air fryer. That said, when I deep fry wings and put the oil back in the container, the amount of oil lost is almost nothing... Especially when a bunch is left stuck to the pot and tongs. When I make fish or chicken fingers, I lose a ton of oil to the food. I would say my wings get way more fat from the butter in the wing sauce than the oil.

I can make them at home as good as the restaurant out of a Bass pro outdoor fish fryer. I use canola oil and dunk them at 375F. As long as there's water coming out of the wings it's hard to get the temps up, but I blast it with heat to get it up as soon as possible. Once back up to temp, I'll lock them in at around 350F until they're floating for a while and extra crispy. I use Frank's and butter in about a 3 to 1 ratio. I was in Ausable Falls in the Adirondacks during the Super Bowl that had the blackout. After a feed of top notch pizza and wings at the local pizza joint, we hit the dive bar across the street. I was drinking with the owner/chef of the pizza place and asked him his secret. He said he adds a bit of balsamic vinegar to his Frank's and butter. I've been doing the same ever since.

From my view Levi and Portillo are very strong goalie prospects and UPL may be serviceable soon. I want to be impatient too, but if I take a step back, this might be the best plan for the future.

Worst trade in team history

Caggiula was terrible last year. With him and Eakin both on the roster, does that mean it's pretty much a lock that one of them will be in the lineup on most nights?

Take last year's team under Granato which was competitive in nearly every game. Realistically, all of the players below are on the upward side of their development curves. Some will take big jumps and some see smaller gains: Aspland Bryson Cozens Dahlin Joki Mitts Routs Samuelson Thompson Other than Okposo, no other sabre is on their backside of development. Then, sub in a somewhat healthy Jack for Sam, and call Risto addition by subtraction as long as we can get some reliable veteren help to replace his minutes. But goaltending is the x-factor. Hopefully we get at least Ullmark level save % this season.

Agreed, but "The Juniors" is most definitely the U-20 championships. And who calls it the "Classic" unless they're referring to the outdoor game.

Has anyone taken a look at his growth history? If he was always small going back to his earliest days and is past his growth spurt, you can likely throw him on the Zagrapan, Grigorenko trash heap of draft picks now. If the team did their due diligence and found the kid hit puberty late and is due to grow, then there's potential.

I hope you're right, but why would Vegas draft him if they knew there was a very good chance they were losing him? I think girgs may have had a better chance to make the team.
