  1. I saw the end of the 2nd and all of the 3rd. There's been a couple glimpses here and there so far this preseason, but clearly Eakin still needs to be waived.
  2. This thread has turned into another bickerfest just like the main Eichel one. The wild speculations are annoying too. We'll find out when we find out.
  3. Also confused from Grimsby Ontario. You can get a surgery or an MRI anytime you want one? Then why are me and my bum knee sitting out this beer league hockey season for nothing like a sucker?
  4. In any of the years since the tank (besides this), Dell plays at least half a season, no matter how bad he was. Tokarski the career AHL'er would get no shot. Thankfully, the days of playing vets just because they're vets seem to be behind us.
  5. This way is better. A lot of people (like me) don't open the main thread because there's very little news. It's mostly just internal forum discussion and a lot of bickering.
  6. I agree with that, but I think unlike most elite D who dominate in their own ends in junior or college, I've seen nothing in this regard about Dahlin. Has he ever shown elite defensive upside? It seems to me its always been about the points.
  7. Your diatribe on Dahlin's offense does not speak at all to the fact that he sucks at playing defense. He's essentially a 4th forward that plays back. I'd like to have seen some progress over 3 seasons in the NHL back there, but there hasn't been. I don't think this is a result of his development... This is a result of the fact that he's likely ALWAYS been a 4th forward that plays back. At any point in his career has he been dominant in his own end at any level?
  8. I don't know if Dahlin has ever played DEFENSE at any level. He's just a forward skil that plays back. Unlike guys like Hedman with incredible size and strength, I see nothing about Dahlin's game that says defenseman. His game is all about his elite edgework, which is wasted playing on the blueline or in front of his own net.
  9. Were the Chara's and Hedman's of the world glaring defensive liabilities like Dahlin is? My memory is they were reasonably good on D but didn't show their offensive upside until later on. As a defensive defensemen, has Dahlin ever shown elite promise in that regard even prior to being drafted?
  10. They could find another $0.75million man to play a similar level of DEFENSE or better to what Dahlin offers. Then move Dahlin upfront to replace one of our black holes on forward. Pair him with a finisher like VO and he gets 80pts his first season.
  11. ...Maybe top 10 in the league with his slippery skating and passing ability. He's shown little to no defensive prowess thus far. Why is he committing to defense when it's clear that everything in his bag of tools is to be a forward?
  12. Sucks not having an NHL level goalie, but I was entertained tonight.
  13. You've got to stop more than a few that aren't your fault to cut it in the NHL.
  14. Maybe, but being an idiot and having mental illness aren't mutually exclusive afflictions. Methinks Lehner got his treatment for the latter, but the former is much more persistent.
  15. I've since learned it stands for Pretty Darn Quick-> not Pegula Drama Queen.
  16. He did get a 2nd opinion and they agreed with the team... It's one doctor... potentially trying to get famous with his somewhat cutting edge surgery that's complicating this.
  17. Out of curiosity, where are you from NS. My friend is a non-practising Muslim from Bosnia. When he first came to Canada, he started in Newfoundland, and then after a year or so of being a Newfie, he moved to Ontario.
  18. Can somebody get this guy out of here?
  19. Are you guys still talking about the Eichel?
  20. Using todays stats from Ontario. 80% adults fully vaxxed. 6% on one dose, 14% unvaxxed. Province wide, 102 people in the ICU are unvaxxed. 7 are fully vaxxed. Given the stark contrast in the numbers, it's hard to believe Dougie wants to take his chances on natural immunity indefinitely. Especially since he's given up what many would consider a dream job. If I could sing I'd gladly do it for a cheap seat in the 300s!
  21. Yeah probably. But the prospects tournament sounded a lot better.
  22. I can't believe no one commented on the sound quality. That was the biggest detriment to the overall watchability. I watched most of it, but I found I couldn't focus on both teams. I had to pick one at a time, usually depending who was on the ice. It's just one game but I expected more from Dahlin, Cozens, and Peterka (not that they were bad, I just expected a lot). I didn't expect much from Miller and he delivered even less than expected. All the goalies held their own. Murray's going to play his way into the lineup. Skinner had some flashes and looks like he could be ready to get back to being a dangerous top 6. Eakin looked better than last year for whatever that's worth.
  23. Sorry Dougie, but that natural immunity from January likely isn't what it once was now, and I'd hate to be counting on it in April 2022 (and beyond). Hard to believe someone would give up such a good gig because of some stupid ideology.
  24. ZEMGUS F***** GIRGENSONS!
