Realistically, what's the plan here? Rochester plays tomorrow and so do we. What about Cinci?

Bjork... Why is that guy still in the NHL?! Same with Eakin and Hayden. In fact why was Hayden ever in the NHL?! He has zero redeeming qualities. At least Bjork is fast and can fool you into thinking there's potential there. Hayden is just a whole lot of nothing. The Sabres are currently a -31 in goal differential. Had we dressed Power, Peterka, Quinn, and Krebs (assuming we had him) instead of clowns like these guys (throw Butcher in the mix) and had slightly above NHL replacement level goaltending, would we get to even on goal differential which would be borderline playoff level? How about next year?

It's 100% talent right now. Our guys aren't winning enough puck battles. And worse yet, when they do, they lack the quick thinking and vision to cleanly get the puck out of the zone. When D zone play is done right, you may not even notice it because it's just simple, no flash hockey. Butcher is normally the worst of the bunch, but Hagg and Pysyk (who's normally our top guy defensively) were really fighting it last night. My son plays U15 AAA D. The coaches and scouts love him because they notice the simple D zone stuff that I don't. I'm constantly on him to up his offense, but apparently those in the know aren't worried about offense if you can play an elite defensive zone game.

Is anyone else a little suspicious of Tokarski's lengthy return from COVID? Could they be dragging this out for any other reasons? As of Dec 28 he said he was working through a few things with the symptoms... But there hasn't been much since. Was he caught with phoney vax papers? Another nagging injury they're hiding? Anything else? I'm not saying it's not legit, but I'm not putting anything past these guys running the team. You think we'd at least get some kind of update since December. http://www.buffalohockeybeat.com/sabres-dustin-tokarski-has-lingering-issues-coming-off-covid-19/

Part of me wants to see them let him continue on that trajectory until the end of the season, only to drive the value of his pending RFA contract down. He's got all summer to rest.

Not to mention competent goaltending. Hopefully UPL and/or Levi come through for us sooner than later.

Ice fishing is fun. You're in a warm cabin (like t-shirt warm) drinking (lots of drinking), fishing, music (no Nickelback), and great food, including fresh fish. A good cabin has beds, cooking facilities, BBQs, sinks, outhouses, etc. I know a guy who bases his whole winter around it.
-
With it looking more and more likely that UPL has a roster spot next year, where does this leave Levi? Does he split time in the NHL with UPL after a good camp? Does he start in Rochester as the #1? Does he go back to school? Any thoughts?

Does Rasmus Dahlin need a change of Scenery?
JoeSchmoe replied to Crusader1969's topic in The Aud Club
He won't beat you with speed, but he'll twist you into a pretzel with his edges. No one on the team, F or D can do what he can do. -

Honestly, on the offensive side of the puck he's the most entertaining Sabre by far. I still wish he was moved to F... He would be a regular on the highlight reels. On D one mistake can lead to a GA, so he's limited on using his crazy edges and shiftiness. Put him on the wing, and it would be non-stop deking teams out of their jock straps. -
Dunleavy has a good voice, and I know I'm in the minority but I actually like his silly banter with Ray as well. As I've said many times before, he's just not good technically. I listen to a lot of games from the car and it's nearly impossible to know what's going on. Also, as a local broadcaster it'd be nice if he had a little more old school passion for the team. I know he cut his teeth doing national broadcasts where you have to be neutral. But, a local announcer should be the number one guy rallying the fans... Just like RJ! 😢

I was supposed to be there but the stupid border. My tickets went to waste as no one picked them up. Shoulda just gave them away to someone here.

I could be wrong because I've never eaten there, but I think some for restaurants the kitsch factor is part of the experience. The message is that they serve for good old timey food. I think there's quite a few steakhouses that adhere to this principle.

Perhaps my attempt at humour failed... I meant that the name was unbelievable, because it was in fact made up.

Lots of good ones but the one that almost seems unbelievable to me is Taro Tsujimoto.

There are no ads worse than Canadian Tim Hortons commercials. Every single one of them is puke worthy. Trust me... Your US commercials you think you hate are very good in comparison.

Yes. That was our plan until the government got backed up in testing. Now there's a chance we wouldn't get the results in the required 72 hours.
-
I believe you have to quarantine for a stupidly long time if you don't get the test. Our plan B once they started the testing requirement was to fake symptoms to get a test on our side for free. A symptom free test is $200. Unfortunately now there's a testing backlog and it's unlikely we'd get the results back in the required 72 hours.
-
Unfortunately, they charge $160 for next day results. I just looked... The next day test is $125 here. It looks like it's $175.

My brother and I bought tix to the Jan 6 Sharks game when the border was wide open. We're planning to stay downtown after the game to make a night of it. Now it looks like we need a PCR to return to Canada. Is there anywhere that offers a test to non-residents that's cheap enough to justify going over for a game? Everywhere I'm looking is either too much $ or has a too long turnaround time to be worthwhile. Any thoughts?

Pick #14 (13th player): LW/RW Isak Rosen (SHL)
JoeSchmoe replied to GASabresIUFAN's topic in The Aud Club
Without checking, I'm going to say they were all elite point producers despite their size (and/or were taken below Rosen). Rosen on the other hand did not have elite numbers prior to being taken early/mid first round. -
There A LOT of ppg players in the Swedish U20 League. Most of whom aren't likely to be as small in stature as Rosen. Again, if he's normal size or bigger I don't mind the pick at 14. If he's this size, but a much better proven point producer, I don't mind the pick. Given both shortcomings, I hate the pick. Hopefully, he develops and I wear egg on my face for this.
