  1. In the summer, I said he'd score 20 goals and everyone said I was crazy.
  2. The OHL didn't play, so with some research there'd be opportunities to mine some under scouted players. For some reason I thought the Q and W both played less games as well, but just the O.
  3. Thanks. If it's crocheted, it must be true.
  4. Did you even look at the earliest post... Look at all those 20's and 30's! FC Hockey: #31 TSN/McKenzie: #23 TSN/Button: #24 Sportsnet: #22 Elite Prospects: #24 McKeen’s Hockey: #18 Dobber Prospects: #20 Smaht Scouting: #17 The Hockey Writers (Zator): #16 The Hockey Writers (Baracchini): #18 The Hockey Writers (Forbes): #31
  5. https://thehockeywriters.com/2021-nhl-draft-profile-isak-rosen/ It looks like that article was written a couple weeks before McKenzie's final rankings. In any case, no one had him as high as 13. It looks like he may have been demoted from the SHL back to the Junior League. The team website does list him at 80kg (176lb) so maybe he did put on weight (and it's not a flagrant round up from somewhere in the low 70's). I'm still very pessimistic (I was so happy to get that pick for Risto), but would really love to be proven wrong in the long run.
  6. No reputable source took him as high as we did. Again, I'm more than happy to be wrong here, but I'm disappointed with the selection. 7. Last year, Olivier Nadeau had 45 points in 34 games in the Q, which by all my reckoning is a superior league to the Swedish Junior League. He's listed at 6'2" and weighs 198lb. He went 97th overall. In the same year, Rosen had a paltry 12pts in 12 games in the Swedish U20 League and it's a crapshoot if he'll ever be big enough to play in the NHL. He went 13th overall.
  8. I meant that the team reached way higher to take him over any other draft prognosticator out there. They did well to get the pick for Risto and they could have done better in my opinion. As a 13th overall pick that you have to hope grows A LOT, you'd want to see much more evidence of offensive upside. His numbers at that draft position are more indicative of a normal sized kid.
  9. Has anything changed here trajectory wise? His stat line so far looks underwhelming. Always happy to be wrong on this, but I still fail to see the logic in throwing away this pick. They should have taken their chances on a CHL kid.
  10. When the Sabres are pressing, there's no change in emotion at all. He could do more to get us excited. He also skips many, many plays that 104 year old RJ is still quick enough to call. I'd agree there's tough shoes to fill, but in the times over the years that Duffer has stepped in, he's been more than serviceable.
  11. I enjoy listening to Rob Ray. I like his unpolished goofy style. Dunleavy on the other hand is straight up awful both technically and in his style. I think Duffer should be the guy instead of him. Hell, I'd take Captain Vanilla Kevin Sylvester over Dunleavy.
  12. Can I just say Dunleavy sucks really badly?
  13. Armpit or not, being that close to the Adirondacks would make it a good place to live in my books.
  14. My opinion is that IF they keep playing the way the way they are now, keeping them in Rochester past mid-season would actually hurt their development.
  15. If they keep playing the way they are, I definitely would bring them up mid season.
  16. How about Krebs, Peterka, and Quinn for the Drake, Eakin, and another JAG of your choice?
  17. I realize my timing is off after that tussle, but is Hayden the worst player in the NHL?
  18. I didn't know this, but this is huge. It's almost unheard of to go from AA to AAA that late and be effective, let alone OHL draft material. He must either be a late bloomer growth wise or he was late to start hockey but caught up on talent. I say this as a parent of a U15 AAA player who's hoping to go in the 2023 OHL priority selection. The top kids have basically all been the top kids pretty much since the start.
  19. Not to jinx it but UPL is actually above 0.900 so far this game. 🤞
  20. Did anyone learn not to waste time speculating on a thread nearly 400 pages long.
  21. I got thinking so much about the food I also forgot to mention we always get there real early in time to catch the pregame skate. If you're real early the kids can lineup in the section by where the Sabres come out of the dressing room and get a high 5 as they come out.
  22. Our family tradition is to go to Pearl St Grill before the games. It's my 14 year old son's favourite restaurant. The Buffalo Chicken pizza is tough to beat.
  23. Based on his play last year, I wanted to see him get a shot in Rochester this year as a backup to UPL, with an eye on another NHL call up if he played well enough. After we acquired Dell, he there was no spot for him.
  24. Much to my disappointment, it looks like Houser has been stinking it up in Cincy so far.
  25. If you played the pros and cons game, there'd be just 1 pro (he's from Buffalo) to about 100 cons... most which have already been mentioned.
