I think they meant that based on being smaller, geometry says he'd have more open holes for a shooter to target. They don't factor in the speed and technical nature of the position. It's a constant calculation and recalculation of being in the right position at all times to minimize the chance of a goal, and then having the physicality to execute it all. All things equal, the bigger goalie will be better, but things are never equal. Juuse Soros says it can be done at his size, and Levi's all-time level performance in NCAA suggests he can too.

100% my thought too. I feel that doesn't get as much play among the fanbase though. It's worse than no goal, because effectively Muckler put the puck in our own net.

His comments don't seem out of line. I think the tablets could be used for good in som3 circumstances, but I 100% agree the young players aren't always looking at them for the right reasons, and would easily get distracted by them. A grizzled pro like Crosby would definitely know when to use them and when not. A new kid coming in the league who'd otherwise be in his parents' basement playing video games could easily be using them negatively.

We win the cup if it wasn't for that stupid trade. Unbelievable.

Right, and literally no one calls him that anymore except his fanboys and his mother when he's done something bad. When he's a really bad boy, she also adds his middle name.

NHL.com says his name is Sam Reinhart. Hockey Canada page calls him Sam Reinhart. Elite prospects, Hockeydb, and Hockey-Reference all call him Sam Reinhart. Why do so many fanboys here call him Samson?

The biggest impact is not throwing out the steaming hot garbage line of Bjork-Eakin-Hayden for major minutes every night. Once they got benched, we got good.

I'm not sure if you've been watching the games this year, but Thompson, Tuch, Cozens, Okposo, Dahlin, Samuelsson, and Fitzgerald have all been rough and tough this year. Girgensens, Skinner, Pysyk, andikely Power are no slouches either. Note that I left Hayden off the list because I don't want him anywhere near next year's team.

Owen Power looks like smart Andrew Peters.

It doesn't mean much to me whether a stranger like Portillo graduates from college or not. But as a fan of the Sabres, I do care if he walks as a UFA. By the end of next college season, he'll be pretty close to doing so. That said, here's an interesting stat... For every 1000 shots: Levi lets in 48 goals Portillo lets in 74 goals Development isn't a straight line, but I think I know which kid I'm putting my chips on.

UPL had to be significantly better than his 0.895 save % in the AHL this season. Most likely he never makes it in the NHL. So... we're going to need to sign 2 NHL goalies this off season. Give Anderson another year, and sign a legit starter.

Does a 4 year NCAA UFA get any kind of fast tracking momentarily contract wise? Or is the only advantage getting to pick your team, but you still have to do your do your time on an entry level contract and the RFA years?

Just the other day I was wondering what would keep a player like him in the AHL. I guess it's all about the prospect of an NHL payday. It's too bad they couldn't have at least gotten something for him though. If he had gotten hot like he is now before the trade deadline maybe there would have been a taker.
