  1. The issue with the Rosen pick is there wasn't overwhelming production to compensate for his small size, save for a small sample size at the U18's. Usually at 14th you can get a small kid with great numbers like a Caufield, or a bigger kid like a Zemgus that you may (or may not) be able to develop into a top liner.
  2. Anyone watch the game today?
  3. It's too bad for sure. They were / are one of my top 3 favourites. In my younger days I was good friends with the professor's nephew, but I couldn't care less about Rush then. In my late teens onwards, I caught the bug, but never got to meet the band. I think I've listened to Hemispheres 7 or 8 times in the last 2 weeks, with some live All the World's a Stage mixed in there. After Geddy's voice went though I lost my taste for them live. I don't like that weird falsetto sound he does to help hit the notes he could easily hit in the younger years. Most of the songs I like best are almost fully out of his range now.
  4. Its time for Rosen to prove me wrong over the next week or two (hopefully he does). I'm definitely not impressed with his 4pts in 26 games in the SHL... Let's hope he shows some of whatever Adams saw when he plays against the world's best that are his own age.
  5. At first I hated this, but I just checked he's under contract for long enough and cheap enough that it is a good move. Overall though, in a cap world I'd never give up 1st's and blue chip ELC's for guys you're going to have to pay $$$$$ in another year or so. That's the biggest (but not the only) reason why we sucked coming out of the 1st tank.
  6. Not to mention it's a virtual guarantee that some police force or fire department will move you to the front of the line of applicants at the end of your career if that's your thing. If you've made sure to get your education, there's a lot of good sales jobs to be had... Or if that's not your thing, there's the skilled trades
  7. This year, KO has factored on 7 of Girg's 11 points.
  8. Okposo is pacing to get 54pts. The other two put together are well behind him.
  9. Hindsight being 20-20, I think the LOG line and the other recent successful 4th lines, were a product of Okposo carrying the dead weight. Sorry Larrson fans.
  10. That looks more like a 26 to me.
  11. Leafs. 🤮 The only other team I'll realistically root for is the Habs only because my enemy's enemy is my friend.
  12. If the team gets good it'll happen fast... Especially if season ticket holders can start counting on Canadians again to subsidize they're tickets.
  13. Correction: .910!
  14. Is there a goalie prospect anywhere in the world right now that looks as good as Levi? If I'm Adams, I'm not spending a single pick or prospect on a goalie with him waiting in the wings. In fact, if he plays out the season at the pace he's doing right now, I'm signing him to play THIS year at the end of the season. Even if he lets in DOUBLE the number of goals he's letting in now, he'd still be at a .906 save percentage. Given the garbage we've seen otherwise, I'd take it.
  15. Sorry... I meant first rounder.
  16. Remember all those prospects we had in the system before KA was hired... Neither do I. At no point was KA trying to win this year. This is a grow the prospects year... both ones that are on the team, and the ones that aren't here yet. Maybe they should fire Adams and bring in a guy that would trade a 1st round pick for a 3rd string goalie and a salary dump. That'll get this rebuild kickstarted, eh?
  17. Malcolm Subban ladies and gentlemen.
  18. As much as anything, I'm excited for the addition by subtraction with the rookies.
  19. I thought Power looked good enough at the WC at the end of the 20-21 season to slot into the NHL back then. By the beginning of 22-23 he'll be fine. Of course he's not your number 1 shut down guy, but he will be good enough to learn every day and not be overwhelmed. I think sending him to Rochester might just delay his development.
  20. The difference would be the 3 rookies... plus Tuch... plus Power... plus Murray... plus Mitts and Olofsson not being hurt. Add in the potential for median level goaltending instead of the train wreck we have now... And last but not least, NOT trotting out the likes of Bjork, Eakin, Cagiula, and Hayden every night. Did I mention Samuelsson? Keep in mind they're already 16th in the league in GF.
  21. Shoot, you're right on the year. Time to edit.
  22. Man, is it too early to start the 2022-23 forwards thread? Mitts, Cozens, Thompson, Aspland, Olofsson, Tuch, Murray Skinner and Okposo who both look really rejuvenated. Plus Quinn, Krebs, and Peterka!!! If Levi can take his .953 save percentage from college and translate that to the .910 ballpark in the NHL, they might be playoff bound! Hell, I haven't even mentioned Power. They might even be good... Scary good?
  23. I'd happily fly around for no reason for an NHL minimum salary. 💰
  24. Obviously, our 💩 goaltending is a tank attempt. An agonizing one for sure, but a smarter one. If you suck badly with a bad goalie, one trade, FA acquisition, or prospect panning out can turn your team around. If you burn your F's and D to the ground, it can take many years to recover. It's just so much harder to watch your team lose games they could potentially win.
  25. Has this been verified? I find it hard to believe that an NHL player would be okay with a close friend posting on here with the rest of us schlebs. I know if my 46 year old, bum knee, overweight fat a** ever makes the bigs, I'm not letting my friends anywhere near this cesspool! 🤣 🤣 Are we sure he's just not some sort of superfan that thinks he knows Ullmark better than he does?
