  1. Shoot, you're right on the year. Time to edit.
  2. Man, is it too early to start the 2022-23 forwards thread? Mitts, Cozens, Thompson, Aspland, Olofsson, Tuch, Murray Skinner and Okposo who both look really rejuvenated. Plus Quinn, Krebs, and Peterka!!! If Levi can take his .953 save percentage from college and translate that to the .910 ballpark in the NHL, they might be playoff bound! Hell, I haven't even mentioned Power. They might even be good... Scary good?
  3. I'd happily fly around for no reason for an NHL minimum salary. 💰
  4. Obviously, our 💩 goaltending is a tank attempt. An agonizing one for sure, but a smarter one. If you suck badly with a bad goalie, one trade, FA acquisition, or prospect panning out can turn your team around. If you burn your F's and D to the ground, it can take many years to recover. It's just so much harder to watch your team lose games they could potentially win.
  5. Has this been verified? I find it hard to believe that an NHL player would be okay with a close friend posting on here with the rest of us schlebs. I know if my 46 year old, bum knee, overweight fat a** ever makes the bigs, I'm not letting my friends anywhere near this cesspool! 🤣 🤣 Are we sure he's just not some sort of superfan that thinks he knows Ullmark better than he does?
  6. I'm not there behind the bench to know any better, but everything I know about Ellis is he's the right guy for the job.
  7. I like it better with him gone. Who follows and un-follows a team based on a mediocre goalie like Ullmark? This place is for real Sabres fans only.
  8. I brought it up to raise morale for the people that are still down about the Reinhart trade. I should have known better though... Once people have their minds made up about a trade they don't like, they'd rather see the trade go bad and be right, then be wrong and have the trade look good.
  9. True, but this is a redraft. So little is known about 17 or 18 goalies, so it's hard to blow a first rounder on them. Now that Levi is 20, and is looking like the best goalie in the NCAA... the body of evidence is much better.
  10. Where does Levi go today in a 2020 redraft? He has to be first round, no? How high?
  11. In the summer, I said he'd score 20 goals and everyone said I was crazy.
  12. The OHL didn't play, so with some research there'd be opportunities to mine some under scouted players. For some reason I thought the Q and W both played less games as well, but just the O.
  13. Thanks. If it's crocheted, it must be true.
  14. Did you even look at the earliest post... Look at all those 20's and 30's! 15. https://thehockeywriters.com/2021-nhl-draft-profile-isak-rosen/ It looks like that article was written a couple weeks before McKenzie's final rankings. In any case, no one had him as high as 13. It looks like he may have been demoted from the SHL back to the Junior League. The team website does list him at 80kg (176lb) so maybe he did put on weight (and it's not a flagrant round up from somewhere in the low 70's). I'm still very pessimistic (I was so happy to get that pick for Risto), but would really love to be proven wrong in the long run.
  16. No reputable source took him as high as we did. Again, I'm more than happy to be wrong here, but I'm disappointed with the selection. 17. Last year, Olivier Nadeau had 45 points in 34 games in the Q, which by all my reckoning is a superior league to the Swedish Junior League. He's listed at 6'2" and weighs 198lb. He went 97th overall. In the same year, Rosen had a paltry 12pts in 12 games in the Swedish U20 League and it's a crapshoot if he'll ever be big enough to play in the NHL. He went 13th overall.
  18. I meant that the team reached way higher to take him over any other draft prognosticator out there. They did well to get the pick for Risto and they could have done better in my opinion. As a 13th overall pick that you have to hope grows A LOT, you'd want to see much more evidence of offensive upside. His numbers at that draft position are more indicative of a normal sized kid.
  19. Has anything changed here trajectory wise? His stat line so far looks underwhelming. Always happy to be wrong on this, but I still fail to see the logic in throwing away this pick. They should have taken their chances on a CHL kid.
  20. When the Sabres are pressing, there's no change in emotion at all. He could do more to get us excited. He also skips many, many plays that 104 year old RJ is still quick enough to call. I'd agree there's tough shoes to fill, but in the times over the years that Duffer has stepped in, he's been more than serviceable.
  21. I enjoy listening to Rob Ray. I like his unpolished goofy style. Dunleavy on the other hand is straight up awful both technically and in his style. I think Duffer should be the guy instead of him. Hell, I'd take Captain Vanilla Kevin Sylvester over Dunleavy.
