I would disagree with this. We lost our starting goalie the first game of the year for 3.5 months....Ennis was slated for the top 6 and he's been out all but 23 games....Kane is top 2 forward on the team in ice time and has missed 11 or 12 games.....Bogo is a number 2 D in terms of ice time and he missed the first 15 or 20 games.....Now our future captain is gone for a month. I believe I heard we're 3rd in the NHL in man games lost. Every team gets injuries, not disputing that. I still think the injuries have been unusually high this season.

No worries, the game would have been even later for you. Unfortunately neither rookie looked great. ROR really showed his worth by not playing last night. The Ducks were able to have the Kessler line out against Eichel all night and they just smothered him. There was a scare that Reinhart got seriously hurt in the game but he actually just took a puck to the nuts :lol: . He came back and played.

Score was closer than it should have been IMO. Lehner had a really good game or it could have been 3 or 4 nothing. Having said that we also came very close to tying with Bailey getting robbed on a rebound in the third.

They put up a summary side by side of Eich and Kessler last night. I had to rewind it after glancing at their ages. Eichel being 19 and Kessler being 31. It was just a holy moment, Kessler is 12 years older than Jack. 12 years. I keep forgetting how young Jack is. But having said that, he's got an unreal snipe and should be using it much more. Hopefully it will come in time.

Not sure it was worth staying up that late for a 1-0 loss as I'm now dreaming of yet another coffee and didn't even see a very good game. After reading the GDT there wasn't too much love for Lehner. The team sure sucked but loved Lehner once again. Game wouldn't have even been close if not for him.

Ellis is in Roch so I wouldn't count him. Will McCormick ever play hockey again? For his healthy I hope he does not.

Agree with this. When you're at home your wife is likely going to need help for the first two years. I get an hour lunch so I max my gym time then. Sucks having to shower at the gym and go back a bit sweaty but you won't feel guilty for not helping with the twins.

This doesn't answers your question but listening to WGR on the drive home yesterday they said Weber and Ennis were the only two guys on Sabres roster during their last playoff game. Now there is only Ennis. That's crazy to me.

Good to hear your back to running. This reminds me of this garbage TV show my wife watches. It's called Fit to Fat to Fit. Basically personal trainers who don't work out and eat nothing but crap and intentionally add 70+ pounds of fat over 3 months. Then they train with an obese 'regular' person hardcore for 3 months to lose the fat and gain the muscle back. Hahhahaha touché. But in my eyes Eichel is equivalent to the Bills finally being able to draft a franchise QB. Leafs don't have their franchise yet but could get it this draft. They have some other nice pieces they've accumulated over the past few years.

I don't know about this. If you're trading Reinhart for an established, top 2 dman then I'm not sure how this would set back the development of the team. Reinhart and Eichel are buddies and that's great. Eichel is also buddies with McGinn who is likely gone next week. He will find another friend. I don't believe Eich is so emotionally fragile that it would negatively effect him if Reinhart was moved for D help. Edit - Moving Reinhart is only predicated on the assumption we somehow get the #1 pick and take Mathews. Which is obviously very unlikely.

Ya I agree with this. I also agree this was our transition year before ROR went down. But if we end up with 73 points instead of 83 I think you can point to ROR going down and other significant injuries as the reason why this happened. When healthy, this looks like a team on the rise. The silver lining with ROR going down IMO is I think we're starting to know the team we have going forward and we may end up with a pretty high pick. But the high pick came due to injuries and DDB figuring out lines early in the year rather than the young core not taking a step forward.
