It was incredibly refreshing. I hadn’t heard KA sound like that since during entire 3/4 year tenure.

Remember when people said Benson would get killed playing this year as he was too small? 71 games and no real injuries all season. He was a bright spot for sure.

This is a huge offseason. Kevin better not sit on his ***** hands again and bring in Eric Johnson thinking that’s enough. May be time to move one or two of these prospects. Upper management gets paid a lot of money to figure out who they think will have the best career. A lot of projection needed but at some point it’s time to move one or two. I’m not talking Tim Murray style but we have a lot of depth and need help on the big club. I don’t want this drought stretching to 14 years….

I’m sure others must have also been to the season ticket holder Q and A with Kevin Adams and Donny tonight. Quick summary of what I got from it: * They intend to stay the course and want most of the teams progress to come from within. Young guys need to take the next step and be given opportunity. *They both talked very highly of Krebs and there’s no doubt they want him to be the 3C *They are likely looking to bring in a vet 4C. *KA feels goaltending is a strength of the team. Sounds like they would be happy with UPL and Levi next year *I did hear KA say how badly he wants to win. I know it’s all the usual talk but I really needed to hear it directly. I’m glad he said it. *Very irritating hearing Donny talk about how great last years team was at scoring. How much better they are getting at D this season and continuing to hear the word progress. Regressing in the standings this year does not feel like progress. It’s tough listening to the leaders of the organization feel like they have. I know there are aspects where they have. It’s not all doom and gloom but nearing the end of a disappointing season where we will likely miss the playoffs for a 13 straight season is not exactly what I want to hear right now. *It was good the Sabres put this on. Didn’t love all I heard but atleast I did get to hear them directly. Pizza logs weren’t bad either.

You seem to be looking for this to be the case. He will be 23 before the season starts and will have 4 NHL seasons under his belt while averaging 20 min per night on one of the best teams in the league. He's had moments of dominant play and times of injury and inconsistent play in his short career. Tons of potential here. It is very realistic to think Byram will make this team better next season than Mitts.

This is one of my biggest concerns. He and Dahlin were bff.

Just as much risk we overpay Mitts and he reverts to who he has been most of his career.

I have as many doubts as you regarding KA. But I don't see why this wouldn't be a strong possibility.

If you get Byram back to what he was then this trade would have cost us way more than Casey. Byram doesn't even become available without his injury risk. Undoubtedly there is risk here. But I'm willing to take a shot based on the pedigree and what he's shown so far. Not just putting up video game numbers in junior. Playing top pairing 5 on 5 minutes in the Stanley cup finals. Less than 24 months ago. Hopefully he can stay healthy. For Casey Mittlestadt I'm taking that risk all day.
