I know Tippett is connected to Seattle, but it is in an advisory capacity. He may be wanting back in ASAP. I like that he has a lot of experience and has had time to step back and hit the reset button. He has seen what is working around the league and can put his own fingerprint on a team. He fits the profile of a grinding player becoming a good coach. He is not too old and has street cred of playing over 700 games and being HC for well over 1000 games. JBot would like the NCAA background combined with Team Canada stints.

I agree with his drop off coinciding with getting knocked out of contention. Jack has some warts but he will grow and benefit greatly from some help in the scoring department. Improving the PP is another necessity.

Asplund has really come in the last part of the season. The Sabres can certainly use the depth at C. I recall from his draft year that he was supposed to be a two way centre, I hope he can make the jump soon.

Dave Tippett may be in the mix as well. He is part of the Seattle group but is a top level coach.
