I'm more along the Gilbert Perreault build, 5'10" 205. He's a couple of years older though. I watch quite a bit of junior hockey and the majority of 17-19 year olds are built like Dahlean. I am sure he'll fill out near 200 in a year or two. He will have the puck a lot so the opponents will have to catch him and then try to overpower him. He'll be fine.

Jeff Skinner is Canadian and has not played in the Olympics.

Bobby Orr wore number 27 before donning 4.

ERod needs to get more ice time than Pomminstein. -
Trade: Ryan O'Reilly to St Louis Blues

Yeah, Hall of Famer is extreme. 25 goals per season while being a net front presence would be nice. -

I have not read all 18 pages but enough to feel the rage. I'm trying to be a glass half full guy. I think ROR had to go after all was said and done. He burned a bridge with JBot with his post season comments. Berglund and Sobotka will match his offensive production, Mitts will benefit from the PP time. Thompson is a wild card, may be Andreychuk or a bust. I think he will help, given time. The picks are pretty good, the Blues are not peaking for Cup runs. All of these assets can be flipped at any point for other assets. They also make some of our other assets expendable. -
Matthews is still pouting from a poor playoff and now they'll probably give Tavares the C. Mixed emotions for that kid, wondering if there is still room for his payday, and he will have to share the adoration of the media.

Carter Hutton signs with Sabres — $2.75MM x 3 years
French Collection replied to WildCard's topic in The Aud Club
Very reasonable. Welcome aboard Carter. -
With a 19 or 20 year old draft there would be more guys stepping in to the NHL right away. If they are not ready, straight to the AHL. I attend many OHL games and still would if the stars were in the AHL at 19. The real stars shine at 17-18 anyway while the Crosbys and McDavids are even dominant earlier than that.

It's actually Vesalainen, but that may be Finnish for Vaseline.

I hope JBot has some good Intel on Hutton and he turns out to be good. I would prefer great but it's a lot to expect from a career backup. If he puts a good effort and plays a steady game he will be fine. If he is good in the room and helps Ullmark those are intangibles that help a team. I gave Lehner a long time to be the guy, but he just never gave me that warm fuzzy feeling. Didn't know what to expect from him from day to day. By the end of his run the only thing I liked was his enforcer stare. -
The Mighty Pekar may need Vaseline at some point in his career.

Agree on Nylander at the U20, he was not the straw that stirs the drink. He was one of their top players but Sweden's coaches did not view him as their go-to guy.

UPL drafted by the Sudbury Wolves
French Collection replied to GASabresIUFAN's topic in The Aud Club
Hamilton states that JBot hates the CHL because he hasn't drafted anyone from there since taking over. JBot likes the other leagues more because of 4 years of control vs 2 years. It is still a strong league and will continue to churn out many NHLers. Lukkonen may end up in Sudbury if his handlers and Sabres management feel it is better for his development. It is a good league and he may get better ice time in the OHL than as a backup in Liiga. I think JBot drafts McDavid over Jack in 2015 even though he "hates" the CHL. -

I live an hour from Sudbury, I would definitely catch a few games if he goes there. -
That opening shot and comment are great. Gilbert saying Rasmus is number one now closes out nicely as well.

Poor Jack & Congratulate Thorny on his Marriage Thread

Potvin and Trottier co-existed just fine. -
He would have taken McDavid over Jack. I believe he would not pass up top talent, especially in the early rounds. Later picks need more time to develop and the Sabres gain time by going this route.

And at least one reply.

This guy sounds good. I hope he's more Ulf than Kjell.
-
I would think Jankowski has done a ton of scouting in the CHL, where the majority of Team Canada players come from.
-
I agree that it is the most difficult position to project. If we get one with 6th or 7th pick and let him develop, that is good. Another avenue for goalies is free agency, some good ones may not get drafted.

Another goalie article. https://dobberprospects.com/2018-nhl-draft-top-10-goalies/

There has not been any mention of goaltenders for this draft. We need to draft one to keep some prospects in the pipeline. I like Skarek from this article. https://thehockeywriters.com/nhl-draft-guide-2018-edition/

The Tkachuk idea of toughness is giving the last face wash. I would not take him in the top 4.
