  1. Jack’s team falling off of a cliff, Sam’s team leading the league. Coincidence?
  2. Sabres are on so I won’t watch the CHL top prospects game. It is only one game but there are a few players that can change their ranking. Scouts never see them compete vs their cross country peers and a few under the radar guys can have fantastic games. I’ll watch highlights and read the summary.
  3. Repel the horde of New Scotlanders! We have been seeing some good things lately. Pens are a big challenge, but Dahlin loves a challenge. Let’s go Buffalo!
  4. I hope KA takes a photocopy of the document in case someone loses it.
  5. I looked at 14 different lists at Elite Prospects. There are 13 different RHD that are at least on 1 list as a 1st rounder. Elite Prospects Consolidated list has 6 RHD in the 1st round. 3-Simon Nemec, Feb.’04, 6’1” 192, 26 pts in 39 games, Slovakia pro league 7-David Jiricek, Nov.’03, 6’3” 190, 11/20, Czechia pro league 18-Seamus Casey, Jan.’04, 5’10” 161, 35/51 USNDP 25-Ty Nelson, Mar.’04, 5’10 196, 48/57 OHL 28-Tristan Luneau, Jan.’04, 6’2 174, 31/46 QMJHL 31-Ryan Chesley, Feb.’04, 6’ 194, 34/65 USNDP Honourable Mention (more than 1 list) Elias Salomonsson, Aug.’04, 6’1 172, 0/10 SHL, 22/35 J20 Maveric Lamoureux, Jan.’04, 6’7” 196, 17/39, QMJHL Sam Rinzel, Jun.’04, 6’4 181, 4/10 USHL, 38/27 Minn. HS
  6. Stars win 5-3 to move ahead of Vegas. Vegas is currently on the outside of the wild card spot.
  7. I know what you mean. I feel like I am chasing an ambulance.
  8. You’re right. That line was built for the playoffs and matched up well vs anyone. Gourde is an energizer bunny, Goodrow is a Swiss Army knife while Coleman had grit with some scoring. I watched Goodrow and Paul play junior together and Goodrow is the better player. Hagel could fill Coleman’s spot.
  9. I like a few ideas that were presented here. UPL in Buffalo. His AHL numbers are shaky but his NHL ones are better. Time to fly little birdie. I would be aggressive at getting Ville Husso on a short term deal. He is young enough to be entering his prime but has only had one good season at the NHL level. St Louis wants to keep him as he has outplayed Binnington but the Sabres have the cap space to beat almost anyone else. History has shown us that 3 NHL goalies is not a luxury as many teams have gone that deep this season. Anderson would be OK if he wants to continue. He could also visit in Rochester and Cincinnati to mentor the young guns. He lives in Florida so the offer has to be appealing and he needs the desire to stay in top form. Levi should be signed since I think he is the top prospect. Put him in Rochester. Portillo can go either way. If he signs he can battle it out with Levi for Rochester. I am not opposed to having them both in Rochester as well as a 1A/1B tandem if they are both ready for AHL competition. Anderson could spend some time with them as a mentor. If one of them is not ready for the AHL then sign Tokarski. Draft a goalie, they have many late round picks.
  10. I think Krebs can be like Doug Gilmour. Hard work in both directions, pass first mentality, leadership and never say die attitude.
  11. Not saying this is Lambert’s parallel but Yakupov had great skills that didn’t translate to the NHL. His issue was with hockey sense.
  12. Nice to see Krebs is recognized for his puck hounding. Some of these guys have been out of the CHL for two years.
  13. A healthy VO may have scored over 20 and won a couple more games.
  14. Don’t let me down, need something, anything, so my time spent watching this feels meaningful.
  15. Health is always a factor. TSN panel said earlier that Calgary has 11 guys that have played all 62 games.
  16. He’s a UFA. I know they need him for the stretch as they are a bubble team and missing Heiskanen. I think he leaves for nothing in July.
  17. Please weaponize some cap space for an asset. Fleury and Giroux are gone, I thought they would need a 3rd party. Miller and a pick for Klingberg? Convince him that he will mentor Power and sign him for whatever he wants but for 5-6 years.
  18. That 6th rounder for Hagg has a 1/6 chance of playing 100 games.
