  1. He is in the conversation because of that status and the fact he has potential to be that good. You need to bring it nearly every night to be on that list. Sorry about piling on. LOL
  2. I know Draisaitl is good but I’m of the opinion he is overrated by playing with McJesus. There is a small sample size of him playing well when McJesus was out. I wonder how good he would be as a 1C for a different team.
  3. Damn right! Kyle is tough but clean. He was rocked and p****d at that one.
  4. Panthers laugh at the Sabres after Gudas goes knee to knee on Tuch. After the scrum, DG puts out Krebs and he proceeds to pitchfork Gudas over the glass and knock two teeth out of Tkachuk’s mouth in a battle of power forwards. Sabres average size grows to 6’3” 210 instantly. They win 5-3, Dahlin with 4 points while Quinn scores 2.
  5. That will be tough to repeat when we meet them in the first round, but perhaps a building block.
  6. The biggest difference in talent is in net, Vasilevskiy is better than last night and a proven star. I agree that the rest of the lineup is pretty even.
  7. Getting back to cap space, maybe KA is playing chess to Guerin’s checkers. He might know there are bigger salaries to move and he can get better picks for retaining $$. There is only one team that wins but they all want that one or two pieces to get them over the top. What if he gets a guy like Jensen for retaining on a big fish like Oshie/Kuznetsov/Kuemper? Going in a different direction here, I wonder how much chemistry is thought about and affected by these moves? Again, only one team wins but they all want to make moves. You might be bringing a big douche to a great room and poison it. A team like Boston has strong leadership and would nip that in the bud, but going in reverse is a possibility. Let’s say the Sabres would have brought in Orlov. He is a definite upgrade on D and a Cup winner. Is the room happy with the injection of talent or does everyone feel down that Bryson gets relegated to the press box? They are pros in a performance driven industry but humans. Does Orlov come in and say this is how we won the Cup in Washington and this is what you need to do. I find it interesting to think about those dynamics. Anyway my original point was that teams want shiny new toys and KA can be the kingmaker by spending a few Pegula bucks. What can he get out of it?
  8. I wanted to add that Krebs play to Quinn was great, he knew he was going to get hit but made a perfect pass. Getting up and not missing a shift after that hit, tough little player.
  9. Minnesota has received a 4th and a 5th round pick for retaining 25% of salary on ROR and Orlov deals. Low percentage of finding a quality NHLer with those picks but you never know. They can also be bundled to move up and get a guy that your staff identifies as a great steal. I want to see Bryson traded or pushed down the depth chart. Even a Dante Fabbro would be better. Caps are selling, Jensen could be had. Weaponize your cap space KA.
  10. Matt Savoie could be the next Point. Drafted way earlier but plays like him.
  11. Yes, I’ve been up since 3:30 AM, still too pumped to lay down.
  12. Boosh snipe looked like a TNT shot. It felt like everything was stacked against them in the third, two time Cup winners making a push at home with the refs in their pocket. This a good team bonding and momentum building game. Let’s go!
  13. Karma, Cirelli gets a stick to the mouth on Jost follow through.
  14. Ducks keeping up with the Caps. 2-2 after two. Go Ducks.
  15. If the Sabres make the playoffs that will help his cause. Karlsson is a points machine but weak defensively. Dahlin is better without the puck plus more physical.
  16. Huge period coming up. Gotta keep pushing but Dmen need to be cautious.
  17. Quinn with another good shift. Nifty is how I would describe him.
  18. VO was not strong on the puck, got stripped of it pretty easily.
