  1. Do you actually think he hasn't done it again since that goal? He certainly has.
  2. I think you're underestimating most local guys in other cities, tw. Our local guys get beat to the punch on probably 90% of relevant-to-the-national-audience stuff. Having seen the local media when I lived near Pittsburgh Yohe is almost always on top of their stories. A lot of local guys I see around the country are the first to say something appears to be happening. They'll say something like "I'm hearing Edmonton and Carolina are working on a trade" which then seemingly pushes the national guys in the right direction because they'll be reporting on it shortly after. But nobody had any clue the Weber deal was going down and that may be because none of the local guys had the slightest idea of it happening so the national guys didn't sniff around.
  3. Any move St. Louis makes has to match money-wise because they're right against the cap. Probably makes us a good trade partner.
  4. Larsen is expected to be with the Canucks next season after he signs a deal with them in July.
  5. Adidas will be revealing the World Cup sweaters on March 2nd. They've done some previews through the NHL social media accounts and have some unique details there. It'll be a great opportunity to see what type of designs Adidas has in mind when they take over in two years.
  6. My predictions: Eric Staal to the Rangers for Chris Kreider. Other pieces likely involved. Sabres trade one of Foligno, Larsson or Ennis. They also ship out Franson, McGinn, Johnson and Legwand. Fun fun!
  7. $10 million this season. Maybe $8 million next season. Basically a 50% pay cut over the next two seasons. And I'm not even interested at that rate. He'll likely get a contract similar to Julius Peppers on the open market which set at an average annual cap hit of $8.66 million. To get there he'd need an $11.3M cut this season and somewhere around $7.9M next season.
  8. Would need to take at least a $10 million paycut, in my opinion, if he wants to keep playing for this team.
  9. Edit: Franson NOT in non-contact practice jersey today as he was yesterday. Bylsma said yesterday he would be in the non-contact jersey for "a while," per Harrington. Some chatter on the Twitter machine among Sabres reporters today that the likelihood of Franson being traded seems to be increasing.
  10. Saw this a while back. It's perfect. You have to think these adjustments would make goalies a little more agile and quick, too, which might lead to more acrobatic saves. Make them make the save, not just stand there and take shots.
  11. AT&T girl was a Soviet refugee. Mmmmm thanks.
  12. Eminem is the greatest lyricist of our time...
  13. There's so much more to trades...
  14. Or Donovan.
  15. Sabres now have 20 picks in the next two drafts. 2016: Sabres 1st Sabres 2nd Sabres 3rd More favorable of Canucks/Isles 3rd Sharks or Stars 3rd (never clear who's they got in Enroth deal) Blues 3rd Sabres 4th Sabres 5th Canadiens 5th Sabres 6th Sabres 7th Canadiens 7th 2017 Sabres 1st Sabres 2nd Wild 2nd Sabres 3rd Capitals 3rd Sabres 4th Sabres 5th Sabres 6th Sabres 7th There's 21 listed here but they will have to transfer one of their next two thirds for Bylsma.
  16. Sabres retain half of Weber's salary Sabres GM Tim Murray: “I would like to thank Mike for his time with the Sabres and wish him the best in Washington.”
  17. For a third rounder... Team release: TRADE ALERT: The Sabres have acquired a 3rd round pick in the 2017 NHL Draft from @washcaps for Mike Weber.
  18. Thanks for the advice, guys. I do a lot of work with the free weights and dumbbells because they allow me to focus more on the weights than those around me. Headphones help, too. My partner I've been going with is smallish and focuses almost entirely on his biceps so I'm obviously not following him. I'll try to provide a few updates here and there. Anybody else use protein powder?
  19. The anti-PC crowd is getting... What do they call it? Butthurt? over THAT comment? Yeesh. Even I don't find that to be offensive.
  20. Pierre Lebrun said he fully expects McGinn to be traded.
  21. I'll try to check in here more often. Just finally wiggled enough money loose for a good gym membership. Signed up a week ago today and have gone four times. JCC has everything I need and then some with people who mind their own business and do their thing in there. I've always had a bit of self-consciousness about the gym so I'm trying to just get in a zone and make it work. Time to lose the dad bod.
  22. I don't know a single parent who doesn't take their baby to another area if their child is crying in a crowd of people... I'm not asking them to adjust their behavior as they do it automatically unless they know whatever their child is crying about is a quick and easy fix they can do in a confined space (seats at an arena). I don't think anybody but those saying they shouldn't take their child to a game is arguing what parents should do. I think the other side is saying the parents can do as they please.
  23. Look out, D4rk is an expert on parenting.
  24. And they held a welcome home party at McDonald's in Coudersport PA.
  25. I see absolutely no reason for bad teams to assume any risk with pending UFAs who have trade value. If you can get something for him and don't feel you're close to an extension then trade him.
