  1. Victor Rask is their number one center. He's young and improving but he's nothing to get excited about yet. They've got very little in the way of forward talent. Faulk is very good, though.
  2. I don't think so. I have a feeling they're realistic. The team isn't good and he's a UFA.
  3. Staal was a late scratch so I think we can talk about that one as official now. McKenzie said it's done. Darren Dreger @DarrenDreger Staal to NYR for two 2nd round picks and prospect Saarela.
  4. Dreger: All indications point toward Eric Staal going to the New York Rangers. Approvals required, but seems likely.
  5. Kinda crazy: the Lightning were only the second hockey team Victor Hedman had ever played for. He has since played for a KHL team (lockout) and the Finnish national team. (Didn't read the article but this is where he talks about it): http://playerstribu.ne/Hedman
  6. Let's not forget about Nail Yakupov. Oilers were busy yesterday moving out Purcell and Schultz. Seems to be developing interest in Yak. From Dreger Custance says Tampa is active today
  7. Bob McKenzie @TSNBobMcKenzie CAR-NYR trade talks for Eric Staal in a nutshell: CAR wants 1st rd pick; NYR adamant about not giving up 1st rd pick. So... Please let this drag into tomorrow.
  8. ProFootballTalk @ProFootballTalk Antonio Cromartie expected to visit Bills wp.me/p14QSB-9Zy3
  9. Bob McKenzie @TSNBobMcKenzie Stalock (TOR), Berra (COL), Bourque (CBJ), Brown (SJ), Warsofsky (PIT), Cracknell (VAN), Rinaldo (BOS) on waivers. I know our tank was obvious and in the public, but, other than Pysyk, did we intentionally keep players who were clearly better than our current players off our roster?

    Tank 3.0

The idea behind remaining near where they're at in the standings right now isn't "putting faith in the lottery." Generally speaking the higher you are in the draft the better chance you have acquiring good talent. I don't really mind where the rest of the season goes but it's not like that. I think the team would probably be better served to have one more high pick.
  11. I think Pirri will get slightly more than that but he's a controllable RFA so it'll be more cost-effective than McGinn. McGinn will probably get more than what you mentioned which is a travesty.
  12. I don't know if I would have any interest in Pirri. It's known that he's 100% offense and abysmal in his own end. This will be the second time a good team decided they couldn't have him in their lineup. Florida is all-out buyers and selling him off. Hm...
  13. Holy you're right. WOW. I want to vote for HER for President. (I'm kidding, kind of)
  14. The Predators are really starting to come on. They've got points in each of their last nine games (6-0-3), including a current four-game winning streak. Three of those wins have come against Chicago, St. Louis and Florida (three of the top six teams in the league standings) by a combined score of 13-1. Ryan Johansen has helped but Filip Forsberg is really turning it on. He has two hat tricks in his last three games. The one concern was Pekka Rinne as he was struggling mightily early on, but he's turned it around suddenly. In his last five games he's 4-0-1 with a .974 save percentage (151 saves on 155 shots). If this team can complete the possible return of Scott Hartnell that has been rumored and Rinne can continue to be the great goalie he has been in the past then they might be a favorite despite the lower seeding.
  15. https://twitter.com/meetthepress/status/703959324138283012 The DNC Vice Chair just announced that she's resigning (not re-signing) from her position so she can support Bernie Sanders for President.
  16. That's debatable. Also, Teddy Purcell has a 65 point season as a 26-year-old. Oh, NHL. You're silly.
  17. Certainly. I doubt Ottawa gets in but I don't think anybody was saying they won't.
  18. It hasn't happened while the NHL has had six Canadian teams. In 1970 the Habs and Leafs were the only Canadian teams and missed out.
  19. I haven't read a post. I watched the first period and then saw the score at the bar. Was this the most boring game ever? My guess is that the Kings suffocated everybody.
  20. I wish Eichel was still 41... That's all
  21. They got their points leader and goal leader in this deal. I'm just blindly going to say I like it because Rochester needs a shakeup. GMTM was the B-Sens GM for years and knows these guys.
  22. I was out drinking until 3:30 am last Saturday and still got up at 6 for work. No excuse.
  23. Officially announced after some waiting: The #Oilers have acquired a third-round pick in the 2016 #NHLDraft from the @FlaPanthers in exchange for forward Teddy Purcell.
  24. Dreger: Penguins acquire Justin Schultz.
  25. Niemi and Lehtonen certainly haven't been great but they're first in the West and married to them. It's why there's been so much talk about them adding defense.
