I hate Jeff Skinner so much. I don't want that turd anywhere near the Sabres, regardless of his ability. He's right there with Marchand and Lucic on my hated players list. Diving piece of garbage. I'd give Moulson an extension before cheering for Jeff freaking Skinner.

I just don't see how this makes us better than simply sliding O'Reilly to wing. Skinner is cheaper right now, but with only one year left on his deal, that's not gonna be true for long.

I don't think Brodin specifically was their problem, rather an over-reliance on one-dimensional players, of which Brodin was one. I hope that makes sense. As has sort of been discussed, Brodin and Scandella are redundant (and yes, I'd rather have Brodin) and probably limiting from a team perspective.

Brodin isn't a 2D on any team we want to be. I'd even argue he's not a 3 on a good team (he can skate on my 2nd pair any day, but if he's the best player on that pair, that's less than ideal). He has high defensive value, but he brings literally nothing else. Sign me up for Patches and a draft pick. Assuming, of course, that draft pick is their #3 overall.

Saw it today, and maybe this is just an example of how life is a function of expectations, but I enjoyed it quite a bit more than Rogue One and The Force Awakens. It was just fun,and I'm sad it's tanking at the box office.

I wasn't kinda hoping, I was completely hoping. Between Eleven, WGR callers, and Twitter, I'd have been entertained right up until the season!

The Smith play was way dumber. There was a break in the play, time to process the game situation, and they had a timeout. It's not that Smith made a physical mistake in the moment, he literally didn't process the situation.

Maybe not psychologically, but their games mesh better than his and Wade's did, and that still worked. Plus CP3. Maybe more to the point, I don't see a better spot for LeBron to compete for championships. Sure there's Golden State, but if Boston gets Kyrie and Hayward back healthy next season, they could be as good.

I'm honestly still stunned, and I've been watching JR be a dope for a decade! How can you do that in the Finals? Separately, I officially dislike the Warriors. I still can't believe it! What does everyone think LeBron, Curry, and Thompson were yapping about? I've got money on LeBron saying "Just wait until until next year when I'm playing with Chris Paul instead of JR."

You're right, but they shouldn't! That this happens is pure insanity.

Point of order: this has always been the case. There's just more format-based competition today in a more rapidly evolving marketplace. I agree with you on everything else though.

Do you think the only thing wrong with the hit on Drury is that it was to the head? If so, that's where our difference lies. I think the but to the head was only one thing among many that was wrong.

This kind of reasoning could get you a job in the NHL's DOPS. Doling out punishment based upon whether or not a player got injured is the worst IMO. The hit on Drury was worse because it was higher, but as Smell said, they were quite similar.
