  1. http://www.espn.com/nfl/story/_/id/23725064/new-england-patriots-wr-julian-edelman-facing-four-game-suspension Edelman facing a 4-game suspension for PEDs. I hope he wins the appeal because we all know nobody associated with that organization would ever cheat.
  2. My issue with Hanifin is he's a sieve defensively. He just bleeds goals and scoring chances against, even though his even strength offense is good. I don't think we could afford to have him and Risto and be okay.
  3. Does the moderator complaining to himself count? If by once every few months is "constantly" then sure. But I'm sure SDS and the mods knew that when they decided to shut it down that this issue would pop up from time to time. Anyway, about 95% of your problem would be solved if you just ignored Liger ;)
  4. I agree. Seems like he's getting the Liljegren treatment.
  5. By posting the second highest point total of his career? I'm stunned that people are reading massive things into some quotes from locker cleanout and ignoring his play on the ice. I officially propose the "stats are for losers" meme be remade into "quotes are for losers."
  6. Thinking Drouin is a center is just another example of Bergevin's ineptitude.
  7. A willingness to trade O'Reilly for Galchenyuk and Mete shows just how underappreciated O'Reilly has become. Holy smokes is that a bad deal.
  8. Wake me if Couturier repeats this season. My money is on no.
  9. Against. His surface numbers don't show anything, and his underlying numbers don't give reason to think he has better to come, and I've never been impressed watching him. I love Gaudrau, but I don't think he's a good fit on Eichel's wing. Too puck-dominant. I'd happily staple him to Mittelstadt, however.
  10. HELLO FRIEND! As Maya Angelou would say, "When someone shows you who they are, believe them." Some people give up on young players a season too soon. You hang on a season (or in Ryan Murray's case, several seasons) too long.
  11. We're not 2-3 years away from a playoff team. At least, we don't have to be.
  12. Only way I'm moving O'Reilly for a winger is if the winger is better than O'Reilly is at center. Has to be an player upgrade to offset the reduced positional value. Aho fits the bill, but no way Carolina moves him. Risto isn't cheap depth. He's paid to be a top pair defender. How many teams have 2-3 defensemen making more than him?
  13. Which is fine for a Norris-caliber defender. I'm really curious as to what Risto's market value would be for a young forward. Right, but we're not sacrificing depth in the hypothetical here.
  14. This is true, but Subban is straight up better than O'Reilly. You make the move then figure out a subsequent move to balance it, with Risto being the most logical chip.
  15. I think...I think it moved.
  16. Sign me up for Hanifin and Lindholm, probably with some kind of an add from our side. If it's only one or the other, I'm likely not interested.
  17. Which begs the question, if the Caps finish if off, who gets the Smythe? Kuznetsov? Holtby?
  18. IF O'Reilly gets traded, I think it'll tell us a lot about where Botterill thinks the team is at. Given there's no compelling reason to move him (such as entering the last year of his contract), if Botterill trades him for futures, to me that means he thinks the team won't compete for 3 years.
  19. No, you get 12, 13, and the rights to negotiate with Tavares. Big difference.
  20. So you're okay trading O'Reilly for 12 and 13 this year? Because that's easily what this trade could be.
  21. Ward is a UFA and hasn't had a save percentage above 910 since 2011. We're trading for him...why?
  22. Remember when Teravainen was given away by Chicago for peanuts so the Canes would take on Bickell's contract? What I wouldn't give to jump in on that.
  23. Right? I once listened to him passionately advocate for the value of manned space flight, Mars, and hot damn if I wasn't inspired to pony up the bucks for it. I loved his narration on Cosmos. So much potential to be a voice for science, and achievement and aiming for new learning...and he chooses to make a moron of himself on Twitter.
  24. I have, and it's made me hate a man I used to truly admire and enjoy listening to. He has no bloody idea how politics and political behavior work, yet pontificates anyway. He's brilliant, and should be smart enough to know saying "I don't know" is okay.
  25. I generally agree. But when the current resident of said house is a blatant racist who has leveraged the power of his office to push your employer to penalize peaceful protest, I make an exception. Also, FWIW, there were players planning to go, it just wasn't the entire team.
