That is a good result for you guys. Meanwhile the battle of Manchester was another dull affair, unless you are big on City. I have fully embraced Salah and Liverpool. So, we are going to crush you guys in a few weeks. Yup.

That is very nice. And, just to be clear I prayed my normal / everyday sunset prayers yesterday, as I do everyday. Those prayers are not silent. I did say some extra prayers especially for Remebrance Day, as well, which are always silent.

I will say that I rather have Skinner than Kane on the ice, but I won't say that Skinner is 'much better'. They are very different players and bring very different things. I was big on bringing Kane back for what he brought. That is not to say that his trade was terrible and that I am not thrilled that we have Skinner.

I think if you look at Skinner in and Kane out, that is basically a wash, at least on the score sheet and talent wise.

Yeah. Doesn't make a difference, though. I stand by my point. Crosby and Malkin should and could have signed for more, especially Crosby. Crosby took less in 2013, so that Malkin could get more in 2014.

Just wanted to agree that the upgrade at goalie, arguably the most critical position, and D (Rasmus II, is our best Dman as a kid) has also contributed hugely to this turn around.

Because Crosby and Malkin, especially Crosby, took below market contracts last time around in order to help keep that band together.

Still way too much chocolate, but someday soon this too shall pass.

I don't like the term culture when used in the context of a sports team, but it is pretty clear that those were the main issues. That and the attitude, which goes hand in hand with culture. We all know which players were moved out and which one were moved in, which is a huge part of the change. The other key factor, which may be even more important to this turn around is that the key kids have matured into their roles ... Eich, Samson ... Samson getting the puck in the face and going in for stiches (I assume), or some other treatments and coming out to score the goal to tie it very late in the 3rd is very telling to me. Also, Eich did something and he came back out fighting. Again, very telling.

So, like I said ... I love the SO. Not really, but I will take this one. What a comeback. Showed a lot of character. Of course I missed the last 5 minutes of the 3rd, the OT and the SO dealing with yet another client emergency. This team is really becoming a team and they are really starting to work hard and well together. I think that Phil coached as if his job was on the line for that last 5 minutes of regulation. He is starting to get it and have his players get it too.
