i think Power is everything the Sabres need, him and Dahlin will play 45 mins a game between them on the left side and is more of a sure thing than anyone else in the draft. Maybe in the Sabres scouting department but did every scout that Bob surveyed have Quinn over Rossi? That being said, Rossi hasn't played at all since the draft, way too early to say he will end up the better player

100% agree - he wont cost much and if he is just here for a 1 or two to teach before moving onto an "experienced / High profile" coach, im good with that

to a Sabres fan of 40 years at that point - yes it was suffering nothing worse than stuck in the middle with no hope of the cup. The Tank gave hope - they acquired an elite talent in Eichel, a high prospect in Samson and a basketful of draft picks (3 1st in the best draft in ages - 2015) but instead of proper rebuild, Murray gave away 2 of the first for Lehner and Kane. How much better would they be now if they kept the picks instead? All water under the bridge. If we are entering Tank 2 - lets hope the rebuild is successful this time around.

we are expecting a deal with Anaheim that does not include Zegras or Drysdale to lessen the pain when it actually happens. its a coping mechanism. Hopes have been dashed way too often over the last couple of years.

unfortunately i think you are right but shouldn't be. I think everyone is forgetting how good Eichel is. Zegras and #3 should just be the start of the Ducks offer but as you said, I doubt they get even that for him.

completely don't agree with this. The Tank and the rebuild are completely separate. The Tank succeeded, they got Jack and Samson and a bunch of draft picks to help them build around them. Who knows where this team would be if they kept their 3 2015 1st rounders?

i don't really want to get into it but it's not like they broke up a stanley cup contender. in the 6 years prior to the tank, what exactly did the Sabres win? 2008 missed playoffs 2009 missed playoffs 2010 lost in rd 1 2011 lost in Rd 1 2012 Missed Playoffs Missed playoffs 2013 missed playoffs The "core" needed to be rampamped.

i will go to my deathbed arguing that the Tank worked, its was the incompetent rebuild that failed. goaltending may be the number one reason they Sabres are 9 years and counting out of the playoffs.

yes, I wouldnt' draft a goalie just because but Wallstedt is expected to go in the top `10 or so. Think the Sabres, if they have a 2nd pick in the top 10 should go for it. Im definitely not going to pass on him because of I already have UPL and Portillo

what have either of those proven? Look at the final 4 teams. all 4 have goalies drafted in Round 1. Keep drafting them until you get it right. i will admit that Skinner contract is ugly..Sabers would probably have to spend on some UFA's if Skinner, Eichel, Samson and Risto were gone just to get to the floor

with Risto's expiring contract, he's worth more than just getting Seattle to take someone else off the roster.

Pronman had Cossa ranked higher than Wallstedt but I believe, by his own admission, he isnt an expert on goalie prospects.
