I'm actually excited for this Sabres season, no expectations
Crusader1969 replied to LGR4GM's topic in The Aud Club
The other thing I looking forward to is seeing guys not named Dylan Cozens drop the gloves” . this will be a team that stands up for each other. won’t be crazy like the mid 90s teams (in terms of fighting) but a team that opponents will have to bring effort in order to beat Wow the optimism coming from the East Coast of Canada!!! I don’t necessarily agree but I like it 👍 -

I agree. Just take it one game at a time. No worries about standings wherever they finish they finish just entertain me with fast paced , offensive minded hockey -
How close are we to the tank team of 2014-15? here is the opening night roster from that season: Age in brackets Enroth Benoit (31) Gorges (30), Mezeros (29) Myers (24), Weber (27) Risto (20) Ennis(25) Foligno (23) Stafford (29) Gionta (36) Girgensons (21) Hodgson (24) Stewart (27) Moulson (31)Reinhart (19) McCormick (31) Mitchell (30) Deslauriers (23) Top Prospects (Kris Baker) 1 - REINHART, Sam 2 - RISTOLAINEN, Rasmus 3 - ZADOROV, Nikita 4 - GRIGORENKO, Mikhail 5 - COMPHER, JT 6 - ARMIA, Joel 7 - PYSYK, Mark 8 - MCCABE, Jake 9 - LEMIEUX, Brendan 10 - FASCHING, Hudson 11 - ULLMARK, Linus 12 - BAPTISTE, Nick NOW (my guess and open for debate) Anderson (40) Dahlin (21), Jokiharja (21) Hagg (26), Miller (29) Butcher (27) Pysyk (30) Asplund (24) Mitts (23) Tage (24) skinner (29) Cozens (20) Olofsson (26) Bjork (25) Routsalainen (24) Hinostroza (27) Girgensons (28) Eakin (30) Okposo (33) injured Jack Eichel (24) top prospects (hockey news) Owen Power Jack Quinn Peterka UPL Rosen Ryan Johnson Prokhor Poltapov Mattiaa Samuelsson Alexander Kisakov Portillo —————- Assuming they get quality prospects in the Eichel deal, I think they are in much better shape now then they were in 2014 thoughts?

Corey Pronmans rankings “I know what you’re thinking, yes Buffalo is No. 1 and by a decent margin, too. The Sabres have two franchise-pillar defensemen in Rasmus Dahlin and Owen Powerwhom you can envision being core pieces of a good team. Dylan Cozens is an excellent prospect, and there is a moderate-sized list of very intriguing young players who could help the Sabres down the line. Rebuilds are at times long and painful. The last iteration for the Sabres did not work, and the moves they made recently and will make regarding Jack Eichel will likely set them back, not speed up the process. ”

this is impossible to answer before Jack gets traded. -

what the best case scenario for the Sabres this season ? I'll be amazed if they don't finish bottom 5. -
Finding out the best deal is from Calgary?
-
I would love for him to call this one right. I would forgive him for calling Josh Allen a clown during the NE game in 2019! plus i still cant forget him saying Sheary was just a victim of bad puck luck.

hard to believe this thread is 5 months old an no resolution. only 4 weeks till training camp (I think)

Im going to guess Borgen will be back, no way he cracks the Seattle line-up. will be waived and the Sabres pick him up

Can the Sabres Franchise Survive Another Tank/Rebuild?

Can the Sabres Franchise Survive Another Tank/Rebuild?
Crusader1969 replied to GASabresIUFAN's topic in The Aud Club
of course it can. If they continue to play offensive minded hockey under Granato and show improvements, we will survive this season. The completed pretty well over the last couple of months of last season in a tough division, maybe they surprise us? More than anything they just need to show that this time the re-build is being done right. Im excited for this season, even though I know they will lose more than they win. -
my guess is BOrgen is back when waived by Seattle no way he makes the opening night roster
-
I call Calgary and ask what they want for Monahan Maybe he comes a relatively low price. I hate throwing Mitts or Cozens into the #1 center role so early in their careers. though seems he may have a 10 team no trade clause, im pretty sure the Sabres would be on the list
-
i completely agree about a team balking at including Krebs in the trade. Its almost like people are forgetting how good Jack is. a year ago, Sabres wouldn't even consider that trade, now its their ask?
-
i thought he said Krebs was off limits at this time?
-
Approve the replacement that he wants done, show he is 100% healthy, trade him for value and put the risk of long term injury on anther team. Maybe they need to ask for future 1st to be conditional on games played by Eichel?
-
Hockey News reports Buffalo's ask was Krebs, Hague, Smith and 1st rounder. Vegas reluctant to give up Krebs Hague is a good player but another LHD?? Smith will be UFA at end of season. crazy to think that Vegas is the team that is undecided on this deal. Who will be the team to cave in and give up their top prospect? hopefully one team moving forward will lead to others
-
I agree. Let him have the surgery. It’s likely going to be a success (at least in the short run). Show other teams he is healthy, get fair value. Make the future 1st round picks conditional on the number of games he plays

Sorry if this has already been posted JS Dea on radio in Montreal The Laval native mentioned the big difference between Jack Eichel and Sidney Crosby: leadership. "All I can tell you is that he's no Sidney Crosby. "He's not a bad person, but maybe there are reasons why Buffalo was in a situation like that".

The real question is “ do they get traded if they start stopping pucks next season?”
