Beniers and Powers are expected to play in the Worlds. Will be interesting to see how they do against professionals

Another Reason to be Optimistic about Dylan Cozens

100% QB, their first round this year and a mid level prospect to start the conversation. -

you were excited because you saw them play without Eichel and they played hard and an exciting brand of hockey, we figured you add Eichel to the mix and maybe they finally have something. They wont give Eichel away for nothing, lets wait to see the return before getting too depressed. but i do agree it sucks. -

I was talking more of Dahlin and Cozens are the new leaders of the future and maybe even the present. I don't think you can have a C on a guy that doesnt want to be on the team (if thats where they are at). -

Im sure there is a vet they can find to fill both the leadership and 4th line roll. Eric Staal perhaps? 🙂 -

I think they are forcibly taking them now Jack Eichel thinks about what is best for Jack Eichel Dylan Cozens, in the middle of an 18 game losing streak, thinks "what can i do to get this team going" before starting a fight vs the NYR. -

if the current leadership isn't here next year, Cozens and Dahlin both say they want to step up take over the leadership roles and become players others look up to. Honestly, I think its time. Its their team now. Get Beniers in the draft + the players & picks you get back for Eichel, Samson and Risto. I really do think the Sabre could surprise next year and would be set up to become great If they get back the right pieces in trades -
I will say this about the Sabres, I enjoyed watching them the last 2 months of the season and Eichel was not once in the line-up. I was excited to see Eichel with the new line-up and coach but if you can add a couple of other high end players / prospects and be done with the Eichel drama....you have to consider it.

I would lean Chytil or Kravtsov. but in general i completely agree, thats about the best they are going to get for him at this point
-
Lets see what his deal next season looks like. If they can only get him to sign for 1 year, then you MUST trade him
-
Should KA just allow Eichel to have the surgery now?

If Jacks doctors say do it, Sabres say dont...why not find an impartial specialist? -
yep.. if you get a 1st rounder for the pick then you just have to accept
-
I disagree, I think we should be doing cartwheels if that's the return. My expectation for the return is much much lower
-
Of course I have nothing to base this on but I’m guessing Zegras would be a non starter for the Ducks. for the first time ever, I’m clearly on board with trading Eichel as long as a genuine elite prospect is coming back. It’s a short list Byfield, Kakko; Zegras, Dach, Caufield. im sure there’s a couple of more but not many

My new line up for oct skinner - Tbd TBD Bjork Cozens R2 Asplund Mitts Tage Girgs. Shehan. Okposo Dahlin. Joker Samsuelsson. Borgen Bryson TBD TBD TBD
-
Not the ducks but if they are willing. I say yes if you are unsure about Zegras. Just go watch a few of his NHL games.
-
I’d bet Kappo wouldn’t even be part of their offer
-
Depends completely on what you get back for them. I do think Adam’s has to start making some calls on Eichel, Samson and Risto right away. If I was going to bet , I doubt they get a decent offer for any of them and they will all be back come October
-
The more I think of it, the more I’m in favour of trading Eichel, Reinhart and Risto Definitely Samson, his value may never be higher than it is right now Build around Dahlin, Cozens and UPL Get Beniers in this years draft. Another culture changing piece. For all 3 to be traded , I’d want them to bring back at least 7 first round pieces 3 or 4 guys a year or two into their NHL careers and 3 or 4 first round picks over the 2022 and 2023 drafts.
-
Neither Bedard or Michkov are in the 2022 draft
-
For how much I would like to have Tkachuk on the Sabres, no way I can trade Eichel straight up for him.
-
You still can't trade him for a bag of pucks now. If you can get one of the top prospects in hockey (Byfield, Dach, Lafreniere), plus plus then they need to seriously consider it. Or you go to Calgary and bring back Tkachuk, Zary and a 1st. I doubt teams offer that though with his injury. So I think he's back in october until he proves he is healthy again. They either start winning and all is forgotten or you trade him then. IMHO
-
at the end of the day there probably isn't going to be a trade out there this summer that is reasonable for one of the top players in the league. Teams can't give up their top prospects and #1 draft picks for a guy coming off a neck injury and the Sabres can't trade him when his stock is at a low point. He has a contract and needs to honor it. So see you in October and be ready to roll.
-
I wouldn't worry too much about it. the teams that have the prospects that could make a trade work are ones that he wouldn't say no to. Chicago, NYR and LA Kings...no one has them on their no trade list. However, if they figure out a trade that includes Lafreniere, Byfield or Dach this summer, Im definitely listening after today. I wouldn't have said that before today.
